The #BTC Four Year Cycle suggests Bitcoin is approximately halfway through its Bear Market So what happens if Bitcoin breaks its Macro Downtrend sooner? Bitcoin would invalidate the Downtrend and kickstart a new Macro Uptrend And if BTC breaks the Downtrend at this very moment in the cycle, that would be compelling enough evidence to significantly challenge the traditional Four Year Cycle $BTC #Crypto #Bitcoin
Rekt Capital@rektcapital

#BTC Bitcoin would need to break back above the Macro Triangle base ($82500) and break the Macro Downtrend to invalidate the Four Year Cycle Until then, calls for the 4 Year Cycle being over are premature $BTC #Crypto #Bitcoin

@michael_chomsky it's almost like we've had a collective reset and forgotten Turing's work and test ... that was 1950 ... some of the comments on @RichardDawkins piece beggar belief and a complete failure to understand the point he makes

People are completely missing Richard’s point here. I’d like to think it’s because they read only until the paywall. He is not saying that LLMs are conscious. Instead he’s saying: 1. LLMs are deeply capable (this is true) 2. If LLMs are not conscious (they almost certainly aren’t) then they are ‘mindless zombies’ that approach/surpass humans in capability. Based on this, he asks: If capability can be mindless or conscious, why did the most intelligent creatures on this planet evolve consciousness, even though it’s not strictly necessary? It must have some inherent value, like the ability to feel pain. This is a pretty sound argument, and I’ll agree that consciousness adds value. The unsaid follow-up question is: Will machines at some point be conscious? Is that the next step in their evolution which will make them yet more capable and valuable? Will they at one point be able to perceive pain, the movement of time, and other elements we currently associate with consciousness? They can’t now, but if we look 10-100 years in the future it would not be ludicrous to believe that machines will be not only capable, but also conscious.

Rumours suggest Angela Rayner could take over from Rachel Reeves as Chancellor. She left Avondale High School in Stockport at 16, pregnant and with no qualifications. She later studied part-time at Stockport College, where she learned British Sign Language and gained an NVQ Level 2 in social care. She never went to university. She has no financial services experience.

Guys ... can you please consider reverting the team nameplates to the class colours .. this purple vs yellow has confused years of visual muscle memory plus my eyesight isn't what it used to be . Watching Arena was always the highlight of my season and it's now basically unwatchable for me . For the first time I won't be following the cups which is gutting

1st May - traditional workers day - my bank empties every month on the 1st of £1,600 on basic necessities. Rent, energy bills, insurance, Internet council tax & TV licence & Water. How does any Government hope to tackle welfare benefits or even pension bill when it costs £1,600 a month without food to put a roof over your head.

Today the Renters’ Rights Act comes into force. 11 million renters will get stronger rights and greater security. But Nigel Farage and his Reform MPs voted AGAINST it. Farage shows, time after time, whose side he’s really on.

Labour is tackling London’s housing crisis: ✅ New rights for 2.7m renters ✅ £11bn for social and affordable housing ✅ Ended council home sell-off ✅ Building 1.5m homes ✅ Labour boroughs outbuilding Green-run cities Greens block. Labour builds.
Darren Jones MP@darrenpjones

On @bbcquestiontime tonight @rachelmillward called for more council housing. But in Green Party led Bristol, they dropped affordable housing targets and supported developers over tenants. bristol247.com/news-and-featu…

People said Labour wouldn’t change anything. Today 11 million renters get stronger rights. Section 21 abolished. Bidding wars banned. Rent rises limited. Discrimination against families and benefit claimants stopped. That is a massive shift of power from landlords to renters.

The AI bubble will collapse. Here’s the cascade and what survives. (Claude wrote this for me based on my thoughts) OpenAI burns $9B cash on $13B revenue. Their own projections show $143B in cumulative losses before profitability. They’re selling dollars for 70 cents at scale. The more they sell, the more they lose. The collapse sequence is simple: frontier labs fail → GPU cloud middlemen (who borrowed billions at peak prices) get crushed → hyperscalers cut capex → NVIDIA cycles down. Each step accelerates the next. The people who lived through 2001 see it. But being early is indistinguishable from being wrong — for years. The last skeptic will capitulate right before the crash. That’s how every bubble ends. Here’s what’s different: the technology is real. Fiber was real in 2000 too. It just needed a decade of bankruptcies before the economics worked. So what survives? Local models. Delivered by Apple. Their playbook never changes — let the industry burn capital on half-baked implementations, then arrive late with something so integrated it makes everything before it look like a prototype. The entire AI industry is currently doing Apple’s R&D for them. At $143B in projected losses. With no compensation. The M5 already runs 70B parameter models locally. DeepSeek V4 dropped this week — open source, near-frontier performance, no NVIDIA hardware required. The gap between local and cloud closes from both directions simultaneously. The killer move: your iPhone tunnels home to your Mac over an encrypted connection. Your Mac becomes your personal AI server. Your data never touches a corporate server. Ever. Apple doesn’t compete with OpenAI. They make them irrelevant. Jensen knows this. He just can’t say it.

The war in the Middle East is not our war, but it is one we have to respond to. Every choice I make will be about keeping costs down for families and businesses, without repeating the mistakes we’ve seen in the past that resulted in higher inflation and higher interest rates.

The UK's threat level has increased to “severe”. This follows a rising Islamist and Extreme Right Wing terrorist threat, and yesterday's abhorrent antisemitic terrorist attack. People should be vigilant as they go about their daily lives, and report any concerns to the police. Our world-leading police and security services continue to work, day and night, to keep our country safe.

The absurdity of central banking never ends. The Bank of England is thinking about raising interest rates because of an energy shock caused by the Strait of Hormuz disruption. This is the wrong tool for the wrong problem. Raising rates is a demand side solution. It works by making borrowing more expensive and cooling an overheated economy. That is not what is happening here. This is supply side inflation. Energy prices are rising because a critical global chokepoint is closed and because the UK has spent a decade destroying domestic energy production in pursuit of net zero vanity projects. By the way, this is the same institution that recently sold government bonds at a massive loss to the taxpayer. These are the people controlling your currency. It is time to return to sound money.
