Shorten your timelines, friends. I started this account to say this, and in many ways everything I've posted for the past four years has been saying the same thing. Some of you increasingly feel it. We passed the threshold in November. We are already inside the singularity.

@AndrewCurran_ "And there shall be no more suffering, and no more death...", I have always hoped that the singularity would usher that golden era in (though I'm not actually religious, I love this idea.)

The new cybersecurity tests and hacking benchmark have been finalized, and META, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google have been invited to the White House tomorrow to discuss the details.

@Mascobot I think a big part of it was improvements to Claude Code and Codex and the underlying models.

November 2025 felt a (big) step change for me, and I updated for sure my timelines/priorities after that. It’s also interesting that many of my close friends felt the same step change around that time, but hard to point out exactly where/what it was. It wasn’t like a specific model release, but more how smart people started using/interacting with these models.

@SerendipitousOr Improvements to Claude Code and Codex, and compounding improvements to the models driving them. I think looking back will be a very significant moment.

@Chahatusharma Things are changing for me. I'm making changes in my life, and I will be moving to SF. I will still write, and still post about the same things.

@AISafetyMemes I said I updated from to 2027 from 2028 at the start of the year, and that hasn't changed. What happened was I looked up today and realized 2027 is almost here.

@AndrewOrlowski A sanatorium-datacenter would actually be extremely valuable, all those out of distribution thoughts? That's pure gold for training data.

There’s lots of opposition to data centres right now, but I am confident the slop factories will never be built. Why not convert the sites into sanatoriums for recovering writers and journalists? 🤔

It is through this chaotic sea we must now pass together. I've always been too gloomy for acc and I've obviously been enjoying all of this too much for safety. I'm not in either camp, yet I love them both, for they are all one tribe and want the same future. They only disagree about one thing - this is the shape of all civil wars. Friends, if you can, please put down your swords and stop so viciously attacking your kin. The time for fighting is over. This is happening. In many ways it already has happened. All we can do now is attempt to steer it, and navigate it. Family, friends, and comrades are what we will all need to make it through this. And that is what we should all look towards now, as we did in the old world. My best wishes are with all of you. Thank you for putting up with me for the last four years.

In a story you would limit seismic changes to one field at a time, otherwise it overwhelms the reader. But this isn't a story - I wish it was sometimes. Even if all the changes are positive, if we are that lucky, too much change at once overwhelms a system. The result is chaos.
