Finally.  The people of Wisconsin have been asking Legislative Republicans to pass postpartum medicaid expansion for years and years and years.

Today I stood with advocates from across the state to call on the Joint Finance Committee to increase funding for our public schools. The number one issue we heard about this budget cycle was the underfunding of schools, leading to referendums and higher property taxes.

Republicans on the Joint Finance Committee cut the “Healthy Meals, Healthy Kids” program from @GovEvers’ budget, which would have saved working families $1800 on their groceries every school year. That’s ridiculous. @StateRepTip

Republicans just released their plan to gut @GovEvers budget so they can deliver a tax cut to their ultra wealthy donors. We will fight back, and push for a budget that brings stability and lowers costs for all Wisconsinites.

We visited Hsu’s Ginseng farm ahead of Wausau’s budget hearing. With over 90% of U.S. ginseng grown here, tariff-driven inflation is hitting farmers hard, and Wisconsin must step up to support our farmers.

We visited Hayward Fly Fishing Co. this morning before today’s budget hearing. As a Main Street Bounceback recipient, they’re proof that state investments can support business, grow tourism, and strengthen communities.

It is time for the state to fulfill its role in properly funding schools across the state, so every child can have a quality education.

Sabrina shared a story about her son, how impactful education support professionals are, and the need to increase the special education reimbursement to at least 60%.

Today, we are excited to be at the State Fair Park for the second public hearing on the biennial state budget. We heard a lot of powerful stories and testimonies in Kaukauna earlier this week and look forward to hearing what the people of Southeastern Wisconsin have to say.
