Farewell Astrud Gilberto. The compilation tape of Astrud’s music I bought in the 80s was my introduction to #bossa and I never looked back. A key musical style in my life. 1970’s “Beginnings” remains a tour de force for me. Thanks Astrud 🙏 #AstrudGilberto

Very sad to hear that #RitaLee has died. A key singer-songwriter in Brazil’s Tropicália movement and an original member of the space age, groundbreaking Os Mutantes. A particular fave of mine is Rita’s second solo album, “Hoje É O Primeiro Dia Do Resto Da Sua Vida” from 1972. 🇧🇷
