This catalyst was U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a 100% tariff on Chinese imports and threats of export controls. This news sent immediate shockwaves through global risk assets, including the crypto market, causing Bitcoin's price to plummet over 10% in a very short time. The external shock ignited the largest single-day deleveraging event in crypto history. Data from Coinglass confirmed that approximately $19 billion in leveraged crypto positions were forcibly liquidated across major exchanges over a 24-hour period.
