Nevada is now participating in the national structure, enabling licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) to practice across state lines with a compact privilege, rather than obtaining a full license in every participating state. 3/

During the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session, on behalf of the Nevada Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, we worked with Assemblymember Marzola to enact Assembly Bill 248 (AB248). 1/

The bill passed, was signed by Governor Joe Lombardo on June 1, 2023 (Chapter 161), and became law. Regulations to implement it finalized on Friday. Nevada now has the most patient-focused and transparent dental loss ratio framework in the nation. Src: adanews.ada.org/ada-news/2023/…

It adds annual reporting requirements, transparency via public publication of ratios by the Insurance Commissioner, examination authority, and enforcement starting in 2026 (including adjusted rate filings and potential compensation to affected insureds). 3/

During the 2023 Nevada Legislative Session, on behalf of the Nevada Dental Association, we collaborated with Senator Heidi Seevers Gansert to pass Senate Bill 393, the nation's first dental loss ratio enforcement bill through legislative action. 1/

This led to a state report identifying at least 16 Nevada insurance carriers likely violating federal mental health and addiction parity laws last year. 2/

In 2025, on behalf of the Nevada Psychological Association, we collaborated with Assemblymember Cole to pass AB207, the Mental Health Parity Act. It increases transparency by removing confidentiality protections on parity data submissions to the Insurance Commissioner. 1/
