MARATHONS WHY? Sports tourism earned the world around usd 830bn dollars and will earn the same world around usd 2T annually in around 7yrs! Many of the sports whether it’s football, tennis etc, you watch elite battle it out and slim chances of ever playing with them. Athletics was the same until recent past, with a good average training you can run the same course with worlds elites. The richer are now abandoning private jets dreams, yachts as sign of wealth, they are choosing health and running is one of the top priorities now. They want to visit remote expensive exclusive resorts in protected areas or unique areas paying thousands of dollars per night and it’s just starting. Look at the marathon below? Look at how it positions that city ? 450k competed for only 30k slots of the marathon? But just look at the PR and marketing for the city?
