Just rewatched the main event, that's really really bad from Jiri. He literally doesn't even need to throw a punch after the injury. He kicks the lead leg like 4 times and Ulberg falls down 3 of those times. That's all he had to do and eventually he would've been able to finish.

One thing in Ulberg’s favour - there is no one with star potential like Pereira in the division anymore who the UFC may be rushed to try and get a belt on. They may very well decide to let him heal the knee properly before he defends.

@CrooklynMMA I just think "mercy" here in Jiri's mind is trying to "allow" Ulberg to give up and get KOed in the pocket rather than just throwing an oblique kick or clinching and torquing his hurt leg or something which I do think is exactly what he thought Ulberg was going to do

@Tentaclestuff He landed with the foot because Ulberg had already tagged him and he was afraid to close the gap. Just like when he pointed to the mat and when they engaged, he immediately leapt back when Ulberg caught him. My point was he targeted the legs so this "mercy" thing is BS.

@CrooklynMMA 2:15 is the point where he realizes Ulberg can't use his leg anymore and he's a sitting duck. There are 2 after that point that maybe had a bit of oomph behind them but he landed both with his foot, not the shin, while it looked like he was just waiting for Ulberg to come forward

@CrooklynMMA Every kick he threw at the lead leg was pulled with nothing behind it while Ulberg leaned on the cage. He was just doing shit waiting for Ulberg to allow him to knock him out. Jiri wanted his aura finish and got KOed expecting Ulberg to give it to him, idk why that's contentious
