Since Christmas is around the corner, and we are lacking UFC events, going to spread some joy. Here is my "favourite" coach dropping some very useful advice to his fighters.

@CombatCr I think his name is Eric Butts, saw him do a few more. The edits of that around the time of him crying were very funny and dark.

Just remembered that dopey cunt crying at the Rise of Skywalker trailer and being so excited when they revealed the Emperor. The nadir of performative online fandom. Glad I’ve never seen him crop up again.

I can't believe a few weeks of streaming drunk on kick has managed to convince a bunch of teenagers that Broner is a certified legendary fighter

Was like watching a soft version of Lopes 2 round 5, what should be a threatening control position turns into needing to endlessly readjust his feet and locks and he can’t get into a position where he can even attempt to choke.

There was one guy who basically had Volk’s back the whole time and iirc the comment was not only could Volk steer away from certain positions but he was having to waste so much energy to try and keep what is otherwise a solid control position. He’s very good explaining detail.

Both of them put videos out. Had to AI subtitle TKZ’s version to get his student’s views on doing wrestling/grappling with Volk. “Immense pressure, knows how to move grappling to areas he likes, cuts moves off before they get rolling, incredibly strong” was all common from them.

@I_AM_SATURDAY Khaos Williams His striking technique has always been rather poor but now it seems like he’s very checked out, showing up less in shape every fight and banking on one punch now more then ever.

@ThisIsNotDSP @N0331Hello a historically slightly inconsistent fighter who is loved by nerds having their greatest and most coherent performance and then promptly falling straight off a cliff is also a thing that has happened (Leon)

@N0331Hello I'm no grappling guy but I do think the grappling of Umar is plannable - he's a backtake guy, and could see vs Sandhagen a way of preparing and getting around that. He's also another one of these guys who likes to waste time on top and not do very much imo.

Nahhh
Nahhh@N0331Hello·
@ThisIsNotDSP For Umar specifically, I don't think he actually has the top game to reliably hold Yan down given the Bautista fight, and that assumes he even has the chain wrestling to get there reliably, which I'm skeptical of. Yan is getting older, but I still trust him in that kinda fight.

@JDillaThaKilla @professorgaysex It's a bit odd because he's promoting all this right weight cutting, proper rest and recovery etc - but he's also wanting his guys training hard with him 2x a week. Whereas I look at guys like Volk - they have one of those sessions a week and rest is hard MMA specific work.

@JDillaThaKilla @professorgaysex In the sense that he's a former wrestler, an accredited calculus teacher/mathematician, a several time ironman competitor - and he's combining all of them for wrestling/mma fitness. I'm sure it can get people fit/break mental barriers but he may be running people down (see Cub)

@JDillaThaKilla Is Khamzat’s gassing issues actually like training based, like do you buy into the framing of him overexerting himself with Coach Cal? Cause TJ had very good cardio but he’s a 135er, is making a bigger dude like Khamzat go through all that actually a detriment to his grappling?
