By 1973, he was exhausted from nonstop touring and had already decided he wanted to step away from the road to focus on writing and family. He had just finished recording a new album and was at the peak of his career. Then he was gone overnight at 30 in a plane crash after a college show. And here’s the part most people don’t realize, his biggest success came after his death when "Time in a Bottle" went to No. 1. Strange how the song about wanting more time became the one that defined him. Does that change how you hear it now?
