@marmaduke091 Honestly, I would much rather they focus on improving the coding capabilities and make it even better. Just use another model for frontend or UI stuff.

It would be really embarrassing if GPT 5.5 comes out and it still has the same slop frontend. I don't want it to get delayed, but I think it would be worth it if they sorted this out before release and got it to a level that's at least serviceable.

Unpopular opinion: $20 in Codex feels unlimited where $20 in Claude vanishes in 15 mins.

@mwfowlie @loftwah This reasoning doesn't makes sense economically, for AI companies to make money they NEED mass adoption and most people already don't like using AI so in order for those companies to survive and make money they have to find a way to make it cheaper.

@loftwah The actual inference cost of providing Codex Pro or Claude Code 20x is about 5000 USD/month, and likely to increase with the new models. It’s not likely that they will drop prices…

I’m not paying more than $20 a month for an AI subscription. Either they figure out how to make it cheaper or I won’t use it as much.

A lot of people don't know the downside to developing for Android. Most of my trials are either being cancelled or they don't convert because they use a credit card with no money on it so billing fails. I can't wait to move to iOS exclusively.
