@adahstwt I was fully in Claude's ecosystem for the past year, but after using Codex for the past 3 weeks, I'm hooked. The usage limits are a big part of it, but honestly, it just makes shit happen. Also helps that the OpenAI team is handling PR way better than Anthropic rn.

Why is everyone suddenly saying Codex is better than Claude?

@BrentAWilliams2 Is she going to college to be a plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, or welder? If not, according to every major AI lab, absolutely not, she'll be jobless like the rest of us. Dario says 50% of white-collar workers by 2028, so it must be true.

One of my daughter's biggest concerns right now is "will there be any jobs left by the time I get done with college", and it seems like no one has a cogent answer.

Definitely more people posting about it in the past week, but this all started around mid-March, when Anthropic shipped a bunch of under-the-hood changes that made Claude really, really dumb, and that happened right when usage got noticeably worse. I switched to the Codex $20 plan at first and was getting better usage from that than the $100 Claude plan. Anthropic handled this very poorly, and it's going to cause trust issues for at least the next 6 months.

it's insane how most people on my feed went from claude to codex in just 2 days. this industry is crazy

@Ryan_Ravenson @thsottiaux I just posted with this exact question so glad to see I'm not the only one confused. If they are merging into one, fine by me but right now there's friction deciding between ChatGPT and Codex for certain tasks.

One aspect of Claude I do like is the consolidation of Chat/Cowork/Code into one app, whereas I feel like I'm bouncing between ChatGPT and Codex for general questions/planning/implementing. It feels like @OpenAI is taking a cowork/openclaw direction with Codex, which is fine, but the lines between ChatGPT and Codex usage are fuzzy. If I have to question whether I should use ChatGPT or Codex for a task, there's already too much friction. Granted, I felt the same with Chat vs. Cowork in Claude.

Hey @OpenAIDevs, why can't you select a different model option when creating a new chat from a project? You can change the model after sending first prompt in project message but this is bad UX.

Send us feature requests for codex in the form of an images 2.0 generated image. It makes it easier for codex to implement if we decide to go for it. Saw some good ones today already that codex is cooking on.

A lot about OpenAI can be understood by realizing that a lot of us believe that we can at the same time deeply care, do the best work of our lives AND have fun too. No goblins to see here.

ppl underestimate how big of a deal it is that openai models are now on bedrock. i’ve met so many co’s that defaulted to anthropic & claude because they were already on bedrock, & for a long time that was basically the path of least resistance. this is huge for openai model accessibility.
