@dougmchone @AndrewBrandt To do what you are asking, colleges would have to label them employees. They don’t want to do that. Never have. Full stop. The schools consider their sports an “extracurricular activity” that happens to make billions. Once that is the position, everything else after is a wrap.

Hear the narrative that collective bargaining will "fix" college sports. But bargaining between who? NCAA? Conferences? Schools? Football? Basketball? Women’s sports? Olympic sports?All 300 Division 1 schools? Public universities? Private? States that don't allow it? Reality.

@JackMac Fair point athletes should get paid their current market value. But the real issue is many mid-tier players chasing big NIL cash are skipping real degrees and life skills, setting themselves up for a brutal reality check post-eligibility.
