This is because @matthayesthfc you have authoritarian leanings. You don’t realise this and can’t come to terms with it because it’s not the image you have of yourself and you’re (probably) very low IQ and particularly low in empathy and compassion (this will shock and enrage you because your identity is made of performative empathy but only for ‘the right people’). But, for example, there’s a far larger faction of spurs fans uncomfortable with the ginormous trans flag drowning an entire corner of the stadium in a dangerous and illiberal woowoo ideology. But this doesn’t bother you. Because the people put out by it tend to be working class (ie not the crowd you aspire to impress). These same working class people will be the ones most severely affected by such a huge loss in revenue from relegation. Many will lose their jobs and struggle to put food on the table for their kids. But it’s more important to you to signal to your fashionable friends that you ‘care’ that a stupid manager said a stupid, horrible thing - and so must never work again. Never mind the actual accused rapist who plays in midfield for Spurs. Never mind the premier league’s all-time favourite manger who takes millions in Qatari blood money. And so on…these are not popular, fashionable causes in your tribe.
