@mlesplmer @MathewWilson @_creativelives @ifyoucouldjobs @founderscoders A defined structure for internships that includes pay would be fantastic and an opportunity for industry to lead by example rather than exploiting government inaction and deliberately vague legal definitions and enforcement that allow unpaid work to exist at large.

@ThisIsIntern @MathewWilson @_creativelives @ifyoucouldjobs Slightly related — we’re about to take on an apprentice through @founderscoders, whereby the guidelines & commitment from both sides (individual & company) are much clearer and more structured than internships. Perhaps we need a new form of code of conduct or standard like this?

@mlesplmer @MathewWilson @_creativelives @ifyoucouldjobs There used to be a good site: payinterns.london, but as with many of these projects, they *understandably* give in/close down after a few years as efforts often feel like a drop in the ocean. DM us with the culprit in this case, we’ll have a look into it.

As reported by @TheArtNewspaper, Gavin Williamson’s proposed cuts to arts education funding look set to go ahead, with the £20m “saved” being re-directed to STEM subjects. Deeply disappointing, but wretchedly predictable. #artseducation
