New year = mental cleanup. Fewer notes. Fewer tabs. Clear priorities. Shipping what matters most. Building without burning out. Building body, family, and apps. 2026 will be my year. 🥳

@TimoBuilds_ That tension is real - bugs feel urgent, marketing feels optional. But going quiet loses the feedback that shapes better features. What was the marketing approach you tried before the bug spiral?

Building a business on the side is hard. I sit down to build, hit a bug, fix one thing, break another. Again. Again. Again. Then after days, I finally solve it. And suddenly I realize: that “1 hour a day” was my whole week. That’s the part that hits hard. Because building is only half of it. I also need to market. Reply to people. Write posts. Share progress. Build in public. Do the stuff that actually gets me seen. So the next week goes into distribution instead of development. And just like that, progress feels slow. Very slow. Sometimes that’s frustrating. But I’m doing this next to a 9 to 5, leading a team, showing up for my family, taking care of the house, and trying not to neglect my own health. So maybe slow is just the price of building a real life and a real business at the same time. Still moving forward. And it's worth it. Some are playing video games, i keep building the future. But I don’t forget myself.

[Day 194] building in public powered by movement Project: FocusMap .pro ✅ finally fixed AI roadmap generation with ideas by scraped URL ✅ ideas getting generated by scraped website data now ✅ polished UI of roadmap generation Was stuck in a loop yesterday. AI kept giving me the same broken output. 1) Switched models: auto → sonnet → codex 2) Added console-logs. 3) Then changed how I prompt: logs → prompt → logs → prompt That broke the loop. 🎉 Sometimes it’s not the bug. It’s how you talk to the machine. 🚶 5,722 steps walked 🔥 266 calories burned Keep moving.

16 y/o guys making $1,000 MRR. Respect. But I’m more impressed by people who keep building at 30+ with a job, a family, and zero time. That game is harder.

[Day 193] building in public powered by movement Project: FocusMap .pro ❌ AI roadmap generation still failing ❌ still getting sample data back ✅ added favicon preview for entered URLs One bug fixed. Two still fighting back. Calling it a night. Real life tomorrow. Sleep > debugging. Playing the long game. Walked 6,400 steps. Burned 250 calories. Still 167 kcal above my 1,000 kcal deficit target today. Keep moving.

@csaba_kissi In my experience is failing the fastest way to success, if you instantly start again So failing fast might be the best thing what possibly could happen

@TimoBuilds_ Yes. Consistency is the key here. You have to learn from mistakes and fail multiple times. That's how it usually works.

@CestIvan I did some marketing before, but already feeling back while fighting the bug for too long I've built a unique feedback and roadmap tool for solo founders, in this case, I've added a free roadmap generation created by data scraping from the entered URL (not live yet)

@TimoBuilds_ The loop is real. And the cruel part: the same night you fix the last bug, you realize you haven't done any marketing in 3 weeks. What are you building?

The work is not always the hardest part. It’s carrying all of it in my head at once. The app. The bug. The next feature. The marketing. My team. My family. My health. The house. The million small things in between. Sometimes the real exhaustion is not doing the work. It’s holding all the tabs open. 🫠

I felt back pain already with 23 yo, so i know that really well, but fighted it and leaned a lot for prevention of coming back Most people are sitting too long the whole day and got too less movement, so their muscles are underpowered and can't protect room pain anymore Building muscles = avoiding back pain Surely for all kind of, but for the most ones

14 years ago I signed up here. For years, this was basically a dead account. Auto-posts from my blogs, no real connection to Twitter, no real conversations, around 20 followers for almost 10 years. Then in 2024 I found @marclou on YouTube, discovered build in public, and started showing up here for real. Now I’m at 2.7k followers, getting close to 2.8k. Biggest learning: X only started to matter when I stopped broadcasting and started connecting. Thanks you for following me and my journey. More to come!

There’s a weird kind of guilt in building on the side: When I work on my app, I feel like I should also be resting. When I rest, I feel like I should be building. When I build, I know I should also be marketing. And when I market, I feel behind on product again. That tension is probably one of the hardest parts.

Before work could ask anything from me, I was already on the bike. It was cold, the road was quiet, and the first sun hit my face. As a dad with a 9 to 5 and side projects in the background, I need moments like this. How did your day start?
