I posted the Manchester United x Lyon game yesterday and many of you Carrick Sexuals were saying we played so bad in that game and that it was luck and that really confused me.
I thought the way we played didn’t matter as long as we get results or does it matter when it has to do with Ruben Amorim?

Man United face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. Amorim’s Reds went to Anfield and tore them apart in their own backyard. That’s already set a standard this season. Now it’s Carrick at Old Trafford. Different test, different pressure. Back-to-back wins over Liverpool would be perfect… but this one feels like a much bigger ask.

@Hosang These are the most important things to know. Carricks first 11 premier league games from both interim spells was compared to Amorims first 11 in charge of united. This stats shows how they both performed without having a preseason or signing new players that fits their style.

In 11 v 11 games, Carrick is only generating 10.7 shots per game and conceding 12.2.
There’s no evidence he’s trying to play like PSG or Bayern whatsoever.

Btw, know people will disagree with this but Manchester United under Carrick do try and play like the two teams we saw tonight, the emphasis is on risk and outscoring teams. But a few chances for the other team and people want his head on a stick

This fanbase picks narratives depending on the argument they want to win.
Yes — we were 3 points off 4th.
Yes — we were 4 points off 12th.
But watch how the conversation shifts.
“If we lost one more game, we could’ve been 12th.”
Cool. Then say the other side with the same energy:
“If we won one more game, we could’ve been 4th.”
You don’t get to highlight the downside and ignore the upside. That’s not analysis that’s bias dressed up as logic.
As for Amorim? Fine. I’ll say it plainly: he wasn’t good enough.
But here’s the part people don’t want to hear. Carrick isn’t either.
Better results don’t automatically mean better structure. You can already see the cracks: open defenses, shaky control, moments of chaos that better teams will punish without mercy.
This isn’t about sentiment. It’s about standards.
Manchester United doesn’t need “steady.”
It doesn’t need “good enough for now.”
It needs a manager who can compete, seriously compete — for the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup at the same time.
Carrick isn’t that guy….

Which such poor defending, this is thesame defending Maguire did under ole, same stupid defending that saw us battered by under ole and ten hag. 🚨🤔 | There are TWO schools of thought among the #MUFC hierarchy about the manager succession plan: The first is that Carrick gets the job because he deserves the chance, it goes wrong next season and the United hierarchy are DERIDED for following the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer model. The other is that Carrick is replaced by a more experienced manager, who struggles to adapt and then the hierarchy are accused of trying to fix something that was NOT broken. [@sistoney67]
