Considering the voice actors that generally get used for games like Pokémon, I think we're better off just not doing that. I really don't want to have to listen to fucking Yong Yea or that ProZD lardass if it can be prevented and the latter worked on FE and the Pokémon anime.

@Zoraxe345 Yeah, it's a fairly default game they tend to get for their kids. They see it as harmless and probably don't know about the BLM and trans rights messages that will appear on screen or the other propaganda that gets promoted in it.

It's honestly disturbing to me that Minecraft retains its popularity to this degree. I don't have anything against the game itself, but Microsoft specifically really rams that full of left-wing extremist propaganda and tries to control what people are saying on private servers.

@Wahoolet Yeah but it's all time sales. So how much of that is inclusive of people who bought on old and new platforms? You have to remember this started on PC and 360. Plus mobile, new consoles, and all. It's more port and more re re re re technically then Skyrim.

@reverse999 @romly2023 That's roughly a correct interpretation of it, yes. Piracy advocacy probably varies by region. So Brazilians and Russians for example are probably far more prone to it, but speaking as someone from the West, there's not that many people around here that do those sorts of things.

日本と海外の、国名は書きませんが数カ国の方のコメントを読んでいて、 著作権に関する大きな価値観の差があって埋まらないことが分かりました。 日本の農作物の苗や種を盗んで母国で育てることも、「自分で育てたら自分のものだよ？何が悪いの？」 漫画も 「私の国の収入は低くて正規のものは買えない。だから海賊版を楽しむ権利がある」だの、 「他国の文化をわざわざ海賊版で見てやってるのに、何の文句があるんだ。お前らも漫画家の家に行って生原稿で読んでないなら本物は見てないだろう！」とかコメントしてきて、 もう会話が成立しない。 いいですか？ 著作権の守られない国にはいい作家なんか育ちません。 他国の漫画を海賊版で盗み見て喜んでいると、どうせ頑張っても本が売れないわけで、作家はやる気を失います。 そんな国ではよい作品を作る努力はされないので、 永遠に他国の作品を違法に盗み見て楽しむことしかできなくなるんですよ？ と言っても伝わらないか。 言葉の壁がXから取り払われても、価値観や文化の壁はまだ厚いなあ。

@extremaratio69 You actually mention something that could be an interesting half-way solution: Japanese authors taking "donations" via various methods (there are a few like ko-fi, Patreon etc) could help. Obviously it's not the proper solution, but it's a start perhaps? (I do not condone piracy)

I personally have a pretty huge physical collection of things, so it's sad this perception of "everyone abroad is a thief" exists, but alternatively I hope it does make Japanese authors realize they should focus on Japan first and not censor things for foreigners.
