The Bank of England has announced that future £5, £10, £20, and £50 banknotes will feature wildlife instead of public figures. The announcement came after a public consultation where people were asked what themes they would like to see on future notes. According to the bank, about 60% of respondents supported the idea of highlighting nature and wildlife, making it the most popular option. Other suggested themes included cultural landmarks, scientific achievements, and famous historical events. The next generation of banknotes could show animals, plants, or ecosystems found in the U.K., replacing the long-standing tradition of featuring notable individuals such as Winston Churchill or Jane Austen on the reverse side of the notes. © Reddit #drthehistories

Elon announced Tesla's Terafab project, which is a massive in-house chip fab for AI processors… and it launches in 7 days! He previously said even best-case output from suppliers like TSMC and Samsung won't meet Tesla's insane future demand for chips to power Full Self-Driving and Optimus robots. @SandyofCthulhu Tolkien is great because he maintains the reality of good and evil even when portraying conflicted characters. Characters may be morally ambiguous (or at least nuanced), but morality itself is not ambiguous.

Oh please. Is Gollum good or evil? Is Denethor good or evil? Is Boromir good or evil? There's ambiguity in Frodo himself. And Sarumen is portrayed as someone who absolutely was once good and became evil through despair.

The evolution of code. Back in the 40s we were just grunting binary like cavemen humping punch cards straight 0s and 1s, pure misery. Then 1949 rolls up: Assembly. Congrats, you can now insult the CPU in slightly longer curses. FORTRAN '57 shows up acting like the nerdy uncle who still thinks math is sexy. COBOL '59 business decided code should read like the world's most boring corporate memo written by a depressed accountant. BASIC in '64: "Hey kids! Let's make programming so easy even your mom can crash it in two lines!" Pascal '70: "We’re gonna be elegant and structured!" Yeah, and my ex said she’d change too. C '72: The chainsaw of languages. No guardrails, no safety net, just “here’s a loaded gun, have fun pointing it at your foot.” C++ '83: We took C, gave it class anxiety and operator overloading, and called it “improved.” Python '91: Finally a language for people who want to feel like they’re writing poetry while secretly being lazy as hell. Ruby '93: Python’s artsy cousin who’s always drunk on elegance and “developer happiness.” Java '95: “Write once, run anywhere… after you install 47 security updates and sacrifice a goat to the JVM.” JavaScript '95: The drunk toddler we let run the front-end of the entire internet. PHP '95: “What if we made a language that’s just HTML having a mental breakdown?” C# 2000: Microsoft smelled Java’s lunch money and said “hold my beer.” Go 2009: “We’re gonna fix C… by making it boring on purpose.” Rust 2010: The masochist’s wet dream. “Fight me, borrow checker, FIGHT ME!” Kotlin 2011: Java but we finally admitted it sucked. Elixir 2011: Ruby had a threesome with Erlang and functional programming and nobody knows who came first. TypeScript 2012: JavaScript but we duct-taped types on it so adults could pretend to feel safe. Swift 2014: Apple said “we’re gonna make Objective-C stop being a crime scene.” Solidity 2015: “Let’s write money contracts in a language that’s one typo away from losing 600 million dollars.” And now 2026: English. We finally did it. We circled all the way back to just yelling at computers in our native tongue like unhinged toddlers. Progress, baby. 😂🤣

Last week, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis. Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks. I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early and are guiding my care, and I am encouraged by a very good prognosis. I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my role as White House Chief of Staff.

Probably the biggest initial challenge Grok had when training the model is how to deal with the mountains of bad data on the internet. Years of mass censorship by the left has significantly skewed the input data used to train the models. Thankfully, Elon is focused on fixing that and making Grok maximally truth seeking. This is why xAI will ultimately win.

Elon Musk just confirmed he will donate EVERY SINGLE CENT from any legal victory against OpenAI to charity Here’s a quick recap: - Elon founded OpenAI as a non-profit to benefit humanity - He provided the initial funding, built the team, & gave them the resources to start Today, It’s morphed into a massive for-profit cash grab Founders of a non-profit are not supposed to get rich off it, yet they are now sitting on BILLIONS in equity They hijacked a vision meant for the world and twisted it to line their own pockets This lawsuit is not about the money for Elon It’s about making sure the future of AI actually belongs to humanity
