Turns out, when you keep criminals out of the subway, crime in the subway goes down. Some of our NYC DAs have decided they won’t prosecute fare evasion - exactly the wrong policy. It’s time to actually enforce our laws, and as Attorney General, I’ll do that.
nxthompson@nxthompson

The stats here are kind of remarkable. BART's new fare gates have led to a 1,000-hour decline in clean up time; 41% drop in crime; and $10 million increase in projected revenue. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/04/…

@RandPaul Please tell @GovKathyHochul and @NYCMayor this. They seem to think that a new tax on real estate in NYC will be some kind of panacea. If a family is financially constrained they do a fiscal audit and cut costs. Why doesn't a government do this too? #cutgovernmentwaste

Washington doesn't have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem. My Six Penny Plan fixes it: cut 6 cents from every dollar spent for 5 years. Families balance their budgets. Washington should, too.

@NYPostOpinion Why do governments not need to examine expenses the way an individual does when figuring out how to save money? They always say they need to raise revenue. For an individual it is hard to increase income - easier to cut costs. The same rules should apply #Mamdani #newrepublic

I just an incredibly intense premonition as I walked through Central Park in New York: of Arsenal beating City on Sunday, 1-0, with a header by Gabriel from a disputed 98th minute corner.

@nytimes Voters in the red states don’t read what publications like the NYTimes say. They consume what the algos push them. The media can shout until the are truly blue in the face but the heartland doesn’t read or see what the coastal media says

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
As wealth concentrates, so does power — the power to influence elections, shape policy, tilt markets and define the terms of public debate. That’s why we’ve been told for far too long that tax reform is politically infeasible, too complex, and too radical. Taxing billionaires is not radical. What is radical is allowing a system where extreme wealth exists alongside widespread hardship — and where billionaires can in effect opt out of contributing to the society that made their success possible.

100 days in, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani is proving that “free” isn’t free, just costly for taxpayers. Big promises, shaky math, and policies that risk driving the city deeper into fiscal trouble. New York deserves better. nypost.com/2026/04/14/opi…

Trump’s approval rating is 34%. Let that number sink in. Lower than Jimmy Carter at his lowest point. As low as Herbert Hoover in the middle of the Great Depression before he got ousted. He campaigned on ending wars in the Middle East. We have a new war in the Middle East. He campaigned on lowering prices. Prices are up across the board: energy, tariffs, everything. And the same people who were with him when he said he wouldn’t do it are still with him now that he’s doing it. Here’s the real question: Does he care about any of this? I would submit to everybody — he does not. He’s entered the nihilistic stage of his political career. The polls don’t matter. The people don’t matter. The consequences don’t matter. That is the most dangerous version of this man. And that’s exactly where we are.

Let’s bet on America — not against it. I’m proposing a 10% fee on prediction markets and online gambling to fund an American Innovation Fund—investing in AI, quantum computing, fusion energy, life sciences, and national security tech. President Xi is investing in the future, whereas President Trump’s cuts in NIH and NSF is defaulting on America’s preeminence. That’s not how you win. Let’s fund cures, build new energy resources, lead in defense technologies and quantum tech. Stop falling further behind, start investing in winning again. That’s the American way. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
