@Grummz I learned 3D doing the AutoCAD R10 manuals tutorials. No mouse then either, with DOS and a 386, just command line entries inputting the coordinates of vertexes then using array commands. I designed a velodrome for my Architecture thesis with it. Fun stuff!

Books. And back in the day floppies were shared with cracking info and tutorials, great for low level programming. Magazines had tons of source code samples too. But really, you had to do a lot yourself and figure it out.
