May I gently point out - the person you casually refer to as "Starmer" - is actually the democratically elected Prime Minister. Would it not be courteous to refer to him in those terms ? At least respect the office of PM if not the individual in post.

Extremely pleased and relieved that this Labour Gov is banning social media for under-16s. As a mum of a pre-teen, it’s the thing that keeps me up at night. I know many of my constituents feel the same. That’s why I called for a ban, and I am delighted we’re implementing one.

@D_82X @Lawrinho Easily, make it so the device itself is restricting those sites. It shouldn't need an account to block a website, we didn't previously when we had older systems and we manually domain blocked.
Now everything's connected, but it doesn't need that connection to do what we want.

They already have this 👍🏻 when I set my son's phone up it was registered as a kids phone / kids Google account so I can control almost everything including blocking specific apps, age ratings for website access, YouTube etc.
You have to be tech savvy to set it up but everything you need to moderate the content they have access to is already there.
You can even limit their viewing times on specific apps.
The technology exists without government intervention.

@D_82X @Lawrinho Do the same when setting up a computer user account into kid mode, so parents don't need to manually add each block in the parental controls have it as a selectable pre set mode by default.
That way parents aren't restricted, their kids are kept safe, nobody needs digital ID.

I could u derstand banning kids from social media site like Facebook, X, Bluesky etc (which oddly avoided the ban) but if you're banning kids from consuming media, how can they be allowed to vote?

@jolomoct Joanne, all I've seen is reform supporters talking down to restore supporters, reforms own MPs doing as much with all the fear mongering and guilting to try and get people for change their votes.
Democracy is about voting for who YOU believe in, reform don't seem to get that.
