@JRWOrlando John, what is your honest opinion of this joke: "What color was Joan of Arc's skin?" Ashen. Is this one OK?

You say you served with RC Sproul? Apparently, you never really got to know him. I may homemade wine and brought it to a session meeting once. He joked about communion wine. If you knew RC, you would know he told the worst jokes and we loved him for it. When I taught a bible study with him for a few weeks, he was nonstop with jokes that you probably would object to. His sense of humor was one of his best qualities.

@yikesmom I wonder how substituting this for cheap wine will impact their ability to meet their budget?

@yikesmom Yes it is. Ironically, I had a member come to me once and reported that Parsons treated her harshly when all she did was asked if it was OK to share the communion bread recipe.

Actually, Andrews, another fact is St Andrews did not even follow its bylaws after it left the PCA in my case. The SAC bylaws require the accuser(s) to practice Matt 18 before the session is permitted to bring charges. This never happened. So, SAC's actions against me were also a violation of its present bylaws. Love to know your thought on that.

@DesmondActual @ZimaInFlorida I doubt it. Their bylaws give veto power to the senior pastor over the governing board. No orthodox Reformed denomination would accept that. They were promised to change that for the PCA, but never did. Bad track record.

A Public Statement of Central Florida Presbytery on the Excommunication of PCA Members by an Independent Church: Wednesday, April 1, 2026 On December 14, 2025, Saint Andrew’s Chapel (SAC) voted to leave the Presbyterian Church in America and become an independent congregation in accordance with BCO 25-11. Indictments and judicial cases initiated “in the name of the PCA” (BCO 31-4) properly belong to the courts of the PCA. SAC no longer possesses authority within those courts to adjudicate such cases. As an independent church, the governing board of SAC is no longer subject to the oversight of the PCA’s higher courts of appeal and is not authorized to adjudicate indictments issued in the name of the PCA. On March 12, 2026, the governing board of SAC improperly excommunicated three members (Ruling Elder David Zima, Drs Stephen and Heidi Nichols) in good standing in PCA churches within Central Florida Presbytery (CFP). These individuals resigned their membership from SAC on December 14, 2025, and were subsequently examined and received as members in their respective PCA churches within the CFP. They are members in good standing, admitted to the Lord’s Table, and welcomed into the fellowship of God’s people. Central Florida Presbytery deems these excommunications improper, disruptive to the peace of the Church, detrimental to those under our pastoral care, and without ecclesiastical effect within the Presbyterian Church in America. Adopted by the Central Florida Presbytery at its 201st meeting, March 31, 2026. Donald L. Mountan Stated Clerk of Central Florida Presbytery Presbyterian Church in America

@DesmondActual For the record Andrew, if St Andrews stayed in the PCA, I would have been able to clear my name on appeal just like Burk is doing. I would still be at SAC to pursue my appeal. They stripped this right from me which Burk enjoys. So, really two different set of facts here. The session of SAC violated and abused over a dozen areas of the BCO and RRO in my case. My case would have been overturned on any one of many abuses.

That can only be rectified if SAC becomes Presbyterian again in joining a body with appellate courts. If SAC does this, again, they cannot force the members to stay. A new membership covenant must be formed. What SAC tried to do to the Nichols and me would be like law enforcement skipping Miranda rights or the courts ignoring habeus corpus. It was ecclesiastically and legally out of order.

Andrew, you are missing some important details. The most important is that neither I nor the Nichols were under indictment when we left. Our indictments were bound "In the name of the PCA" which SAC had not standing to represent. Possibly even more important is that the church breached its membership covenant with us when it changed its theology in leaving the PCA. Church membership and associated discipline is a voluntary relationship. If you were a Roman Catholic and they switched to Lutheran, they could not force you to stay? Agreed?

@StanChristi1986 @ZimaInFlorida Yes sir. Following the precedent set by the PCA on Tuesday, leaving a denomination is a valid means of escaping church discipline. So Burk, by this logic, could simply leave the PCA and go back to his regular duties at SAC, but he hasn’t. Why?

I’m new to Presbyterianism so can someone explain to me how you can have an *independant* *presbyterian* church? Isn’t a key feature of being Presbyterian that you have the presbytery? Without that isn’t it just reformed Congregationalism?

Given what has been reported to police regarding the SAC/Nichols situation, it's essential that we ask why certain things have NOT been reported. Listen free: patreon.com/posts/finding-…

@ajaugenstein @ZimaInFlorida biblical headship governs the church with its own plurality of elders. if a “higher body” than the church is anything but Christ, that church shouldn’t be a church. it’s clearly a fundamental disagreement with the presbytery structure. biblical headship answers to Christ alone.

I would like to express my gratitude for the members of the Central Florida Presbytery who today voted to make a public statement recognizing that I am a member in good standing in the PCA and that the excommunication published about me by St Andrews Chapel was invalid.

It is disgusting and shameful how you are shaming and naming the victim here. This false narrative that St Andrews made in a police report was dispelled by Dr Nichols at the Presbytery meeting. The unidentified man was her brother. Even if it wasn't, it would be fallacious to argue that one identified man is exculpatory evidence for Adams.

I argue that I was following Jesus' example in calling out corrupt church leaders. I was providing my theological and epistemological basis for my actions. You seem to make arguments but not want a response that challenges them so you say something then say you don't have time to discuss it further. It comes across as if you don't have confidence that your comments will survive a cogent polemic response.

My family has suffered a great amount of harm from SAC. I did my duty as an elder and helped people who reported harm to me. The church leadership relatiated against me and even meddled in my family. I tried to peacefully withdraw several times they but wanted revenge so they said no. You slander me as I did not compare myself to Christ but offered his example as one that I follow in calling out corrupt church leaders. You sir, are what the Bible calls a contentious man. I don't believe you are even epistemologically self aware from the way you argue.

@ZimaInFlorida @ajaugenstein David, your actions have caused a lot of hurt and sincere heart ache within SAC. Justifying yourself as a comparison with Christ demonstrates an enormous lack of self awareness and discernment, to put it mildly. I pray SAC can move forward and recover from the damage you’ve done

It is actually the opposite of targeting. The CFP has accommodated and been overly charitable toward SAC since 1998. This is because most of the men in the CFP loved Sproul. The presbytery made exceptions for SAC that it would not for any other church. SAC was allowed to operate out of bounds for 25 years. Please read the last 25 year history and it will be oblivious. 25 years of exceptional kindness until the end when they even made a shepherding committee to help SAC. The CFP has never worked so hard to help one church.

@ajaugenstein @ZimaInFlorida I have no doubt it’s absolutely targeting. I would retract this opinion if I saw this same standard applied to other churches.

@FloridianOG @ZimaInFlorida This is the same presbytery that is fine with ordaining a Side B homosexual, so I’m not shocked by such a ridiculous and inappropriate action.
