@yanickmproulx Since inception, the Build Canada Homes program has built 9 homes. Yep a whole 9. What a great program - if they really wanted to make a difference - they would just get out of the way and make it easier for private companies and investors to build the homes.

You hate Mark Carney because he’s a Liberal. Fine. But I keep hearing “he’s done nothing” from people who can’t name a single policy. So here are the receipts from his first 12 months: 1 - Killed the consumer carbon tax. Gone on day one. 2 - Scrapped the EV mandate. Replaced it with a $5,000 rebate and choice. 3 - Reversed the capital gains tax hike. 4 - Passed the One Canadian Economy Act (C-5) to tear down interprovincial trade barriers. 5 - Cut 40,000 federal jobs with a plan to actually shrink government. 6 - Slashed immigration targets to match housing and infrastructure capacity. 7 - Hit NATO’s 2% target with $82B in new defence spending. 8 - Launched Build Canada Homes + a Major Projects Office fast-tracking 20+ projects. 9 - 26 international trips, China canola tariffs reduced, $97B in foreign investment secured. Read it again: carbon tax gone. EV mandate gone. capital gains reversed. immigration down. defence up. trade barriers down. government trimmed. You don’t have to like him. You don’t have to vote for him. But saying “he’s done nothing” after that list isn’t analysis, it’s selective memory. #canpoli #cdnpoli #LIB2026 #markcarney

PATHETIC: Mark Carney on US / CANADA trade. Dental Care, Food lunch Program, Daycare Life is Affordable in Canada. It would be helpful if the Conservatives had more than one Question in Question period.

@JasminLaine_ None of those things. I used to be proud to say I come from a country that welcomed all, but did not bend to all. That there was a wholesome, family perspective that others were welcome to join. Some where along the way we started to bend, and now feel guilty for our culture

What exactly does being a proud Canadian mean to you? Without saying: maple syrup, buying Canadian spirits and wine, or “we’re not American”

@echipiuk @LivinTheFringe I love what you guys are doing back in Alberta. As an Albertan living in Ontario it is so frustrating to be muted as voters and Canadians. I served this country in uniform for almost 28 years and for what? Pronouns and fake climate action plans. Keep up the fight!

The most effective response for Albertans is simple: Sign the petition!! Participate in democracy. Show that you care, that you are engaged, and that you are capable of making your own decisions. Because democracy is not passive, it depends on citizens who are willing to step forward and take part. Make your voices heard so Ottawa hears it once and for all!
Eva Chipiuk, BSc, LLB, LLM@echipiuk

Less than 24 hours after the close of the proceeding, Justice Leonard issued her stay decision, stating: “To be clear, the Court is not staying the collection of signatures; this decision has no impact whatsoever on the signature collection period or when that period expires... Specifically, the Chief Electoral Officer shall not certify the petition results or make a referral to the Minister of Justice until the Court has ruled on the Applications by ACN and the Blackfoot Nations.” If there is no harm in gathering signatures, what is the harm in verifying them or transmitting the results to the Legislature? In effect, the decision halts the communication of the democratic will of citizens to their elected representatives. How does that strengthen, or even preserve, the integrity of our democratic process? And it doesn’t take into consideration the canvassers, those standing in the cold for hours and engaged their fellow citizens in a lawful democratic exercise, only to be told that their work cannot be formally recognized or conveyed. If participation is permitted, but the outcome cannot be communicated, what exactly is the process meant to achieve and who does that ultimately serve?

🚨 BREAKING: Ontario Premier (Canada) Doug Ford has taken a MASSIVE STEP away from transparency by BLOCKING access to information requests. He proceeds to use China as an excuse for such measures.

@Zohan723 @HockeyHStove To be sure. Strome was the odd man out with Poehling signing for four years. Maybe there is no Naz trade today, maybe there is-but this looks like a Naz replacement in terms of minutes.

@ShaunRickard67 @TimHortons It has steadily gone down hill for years now. The quality is bad, the service is suspect and let's be honest, outside of a couple of smaller town stores, I am amazed most of the stores are not shut down due to health inspection failures.

@Martyupnorth Of course he did and should. He is the leader of the official opposition party in Canada. It would be counter intuitive to support the separation. This does not mean he should not fight for the very things that are fueling the separation sentiments.

@MatchsticksCGY I can speak from experience (had the surgery in 2019) recovery varies, but it is very much determined by the fitness and conditioning of the patient. For me the surgery took about 8 months to recover, but I am older and had far less medical support and conditioning than he has.

Hip resurfacing is not a minor surgery whatsoever and this injury had typically been career ending before Patrick Kane and John Klingberg. Hopefully Huberdeau can get back to 100%, however long that may take.

If I’m Ryan Huska, Zayne Parekh is right back in the lineup Wednesday. Forget about points, those will come. His 20:05 in ice time is what popped for me. Let’s put all the noise and consternation about how he’ll be used/misused to rest before the Olympic break. Just let him buck.
