This is Aiden. Today he got to open some Christmas Presents, including a big one: a Switch 2 - bought, paid for, and gifted by my YouTube community. He’s in shock and it produced his first smile since coming back to us.
He’s wanted us to share a few words with you all:
“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe they did that for me. That’s $500! That’s a lot of money dad! Why were they so kind to me? Tell them thank you. Take a photo and tell them thank you right now!”
So here we are. A kid that came back from the brink. Shocked, surprised, and happy over a Christmas present like any normal kid. Keep fighting kiddo.
You’ll be home soon enough! Now he’s like “I really want DK Banaza dad!”
We’ll see what we can do about this maybe as a surprise for another day.

Update 3: Aiden has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. While DKA continues to no longer be a concern, his Kidney functions are continuing to decline. More than that, his left lung is now completely full of fluid from his gut that IPV is failing to shake loose. He now has pneumonia as well.
Doctors are not showing huge concerns for the lung yet, as what’s in there should naturally absorb over time and they only switched to new treatment at 5am. That said, it is a concern. A big one.
Kidney’s are still the #1 concern and there are no answers yet. He also has a massive new infection, but meds are showing positive signs on knocking that down.
That’s all for today unless he makes a big turn to the positive by the end of the day. Please continue to pray for my son. He’s still fighting for his life.

Update 2: My son has defeated DKA and is slowly regaining his brain functions. He said a few words today and squeezes our hand and looks at us frequently! Unfortunately, he’s not out of the woods. His kidney’s are failing and they don’t know why. Please continue to pray. Every day something else goes wrong. And he’s still not all the way back mentally - but good signs that will happen in time. Your prayers I truly believe are making a difference in my son’s life. Because of them and the amazing medical team attending to him 24/7, hrs made progress at all which is amazing. But now we shift our concerns to something else. Thank you all for the outpouring of support, love, and prayers for our little sweet Aiden. He still has some tough battles ahead and when he’s all better, he’s going to be smiling so wide at all the support he never would expect to get. To give you guys a little more about him, despite how kind he is, he’s been a victim of bullying this year and has felt like nobody but his family seems to love him. That’s absolutely not the case, and he’s going to love seeing that those that support his dad’s work that even enables me to be here every single day for him until he comes home - be it soon, or weeks from now care about him too without even knowing him. His favorite books are comic books like Batman and he’s massively into Dog Man as well. his favorite Nintendo game? Mario Odyssey! He also really enjoys Mario Kart and was just started getting into Zelda with Breath of the Wild. This outpouring of love, support, kindness, and prayer is likely going to mean more to him when we show him than it does even to his parents. Thank you, and hopefully a good new Christmas Miracle is coming his way tomorrow.

We never had to leave. We decided to do so, so we can feel rested together. When you watch your child fight for his life for 20 straight hours, it takes a lot out of you,
Especially when there is nothing you can do and for him to win this, it requires a level of patience that I don’t know any parent has.
We did make sure not to leave to the hotel until he was in as stable a condition as is possible given everything since there is no such thing right now as “stable”. More “he’s at a spot we would expect”
I just woke up, no calls to either of our phones at this time. As they told us, if they don’t call - no call = good news. Either he’s still the exact same way he was when we left, or he’s even better. They won’t call when it’s good news because the call itself, before you even answer it, can cause severe distress.
So, while I am unaware of his current condition this morning, the fact they didn’t call us so far is a good sign.
Yulia and I are in this together and giving each other strength. If he turns the corner it’s possible future evenings we take shifts, because Aiden may be able to actually see us, talk, and even hold our hand.
When we left none of that was possible. We aren’t even allowed to touch him.
He’s fighting. He’s giving it everything he has. And that’s all we can ask for of him.
He has 3 nurses and a doctor with him at all times. He will never be left alone for even a second.

Update: my son is still fighting for his life. He has brain swelling on top of everything else.
We finally made the decision to step away to a hotel to sleep. We need our strength for him. And we’re getting worn down ourselves. He is in the best possible care in the world right now.
We have to keep hoping he turns the corner.
We weren’t planning to release this update, but given that things are even more serious than just having DKA and the Flu. If we get no phone call (hotel is 2m from the hospital) to wake us up tonight - that’s good news. No news to us, is good news for him.
The hardest part in all of this as a parent is not just watching him suffer, but knowing for the first time in our child’s life we can’t do anything about it.
For those wishing to know how to more directly send your prayers, don’t pray for me, pray for him. His name is Aiden. He’s 12 years old. He’s a straight A student, and the kindest soul you will ever meet. He helped his friend who broke his leg just a month ago, tutored his own brother, and even took care of me when my hernia knocked me down earlier this year.
He has been nothing but Amazing and doesn’t deserve to be fighting for his life. But here we are. I’m off to sleep, hoping my phone won’t be the reason I wake up.

My son is being air lifted to intensive care. Flu sent his blood sugar up, type 1 diabetes confirmed and he’s barely with us right now. I have nothing else I wish to share. Been at the hospital all night. Please pray for his recovery. I will not update any further until he’s home safe with us and feeling like himself again. And for anyone thinking this is for attention - you can kindly unfollow me and never watch my content again. I am only saying something now, 6 hours after being here, because he won’t be with us as he’s flown and I believe in the power of prayer to keep him safe in his way there and to recover. Thank you to everyone who has already sent prayers days ago. My family appreciates it.

@NintendoAmerica I truly have to see how downgraded the game had to get to squeeze onto a Switch 2's low specs. After Maxing the DEMO out on PC with all the Raytracing, DLSS and Frame Gen at 5K resolution... I'll have to see how this fits on the handheld! It will have to be magic!

First input lag tests for NSW2 in the world?

72ms via M3 (120hz on Frame Rate Counter)
71ms via NSW2 screen.
No options for input delay reduction in graphics (unless I missed them).
No screen tearing on the Inzone M3 (VRR video out impossible right?)

If you wanted to use your Varmilo FK 2 to play games on the Switch 2 and you own a Wingman NS Lite, you can get it to work!
Before you follow the steps below, you will need to update your Wingman NS LITE to the BETA firmware.
Here's the how-to:
1. Connect the FK2 to the Wingman NS LITE, then plug it into the Switch 2 dock.
2. Confirm that the LED on the NS LITE lights up blue.
3. On the Switch 2, go to Home > Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
4. Press and hold Start + Back + × (for SF6: Light Kick) on the FK2.
5. Confirm that the NS LITE’s LED blinks blue and red, then lights up blue again.
→ The controller is now in X Input Mode.
Press and hold Start + Back + △ (for SF6: Medium Punch) on the FK2.
6. Confirm that the NS LITE’s LED blinks blue and red, then lights up blue again.
→ The controller is now in NS Mode.
7. If you see “Registered” at the top-left corner of the screen at this timing, the setup is successful.
