Publicly traded companies in Britain must have, or “explain to the regulator” why they do not have: - A minimum of 40% women on their board of directors - A woman CEO, chairman of the board, CFO and/or Senior Independent Director - A board member who is an ethnic minority Why is anybody confused about why so few companies want to list here and so few promising startups scale up here? Would you agree to put people in charge of your company on the basis of their sex or race in order to meet a diversity quota? These rules were brought in by the Conservative Party in 2022, BTW.

It is only Tuesday, and this Government has already announced an official definition of Islamophobia, an Islamophobia tsar, and plans to push ahead today with restricting our ancient right to trial by jury — all of which will stifle free speech in this country.
This is not governing in the national interest. What we are seeing is an attempt to reintroduce Britain’s blasphemy laws, 18 years after they were abolished by Parliament, and the biggest assault on English liberty — particularly free speech — in over 800 years.
This Government is becoming increasingly authoritarian and more bullish in its open disdain for free speech.
The fight for free speech has never been more important than it is today.

I sold out of a lot of my UK stocks after they went on a massive run, but after selling off sharply, there are quite a few that are starting to look excellent value once again.
Vistry #VTY is probably my top pick. Having dropped from a high of 743p to 437p after a profit warning, they are now in deep value territory and now look like a decent turnaround story on a forward P/E of just 9.46 and 7.17 for this year and next year.
I also like Raspberry Pi #RPI now that they have given up all of their recent gains from X user Serenity's constant posting about the stock, which got picked up by the financial media. I think their bull thesis regarding their use in small-scale AI projects is still valid, despite the price action.
Another stock that I really like is Brave Bison #BBSN, now it has dropped to 72.5p. I would still like to see the share price drop back to the mid-60s, but this serial acquirer is still really cheap even at the current price in my view.
Finally, I am watching several financial stocks that I have taken profits on recently, such as Man Group #EMG, Aviva, #OSB and M&G #MNG, because they have all pulled back hard, and they have all got a juicy final dividend coming up soon.
