Four Iranian army officers were killed engaging American aircraft during the operation, including a brigadier general who allegedly hit a U.S. aircraft with a shoulder-fired missile before his unit was destroyed.
The U.S. military cratered every road in the area to physically prevent Iranian forces from closing in.

🇺🇸 🇮🇷 U.S. forces just had a very messy 48 hours in Iran. An F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down. One crew member was rescued quickly, but the Weapons Systems Officer (a Colonel and Vice Wing Commander) was missing for hours. A large special operations rescue effort involving C-130s and AH-6 Little Bird helicopters was launched and things got chaotic. The odd part? F-15E aircrews are usually junior or mid-grade officers. Lieutenants. Captains. Maybe a major. So why was a colonel in the back seat of the fighter jet that went down in Iran? The rescue site was suspiciously close to Isfahan, home to Iran's heavily guarded enriched uranium stockpile. A high-ranking officer with sensitive knowledge, deep inside enemy territory, near the most valuable target in the country... Was this purely a rescue mission or did a botched F-15 shootdown accidentally blow the cover on a planned special ops raid to snatch Iran’s nuclear material? Source: @zerohedge
