One of the Harrow enforcement officers at the centre of recent footage has spoken out for the first time. In a video, Joseph Fernandes says he’s breaking his silence to respond to what he calls inaccurate and misleading claims made about him and his colleague, both about the incident and about their personal lives. He rejects claims about his background, stating that he is a British citizen, and says reports about where he lives are false. He says a journalist approached him before an article was published and he was given a chance to comment, but he believes much of what was reported doesn’t reflect what happened. He says he’ll give his account of the incident itself in a follow-up video.
