@iseeuliars Our culture tells people that authenticity is "cringe." We live in a world built on lies for profit. They tell us we're not good enough unless we act/consume/appear in a certain way. And yes, unless we struggle against it, we all end up perverted in the end.

The thing about lying to yourself is that once you start it gets harder and harder to face the truth. And the more you keep the lies going, building on them because that's what's necessary to maintain the original lie, the more you corrupt your thinking and your character.

The reason the language isn’t doing well is because the schooling system is really flawed and because the government doesn’t enforce the language more strictly, as they do in Catalonia or the Baltic states. While Irish is definitely a difficult language, its spelling just isn’t.

I’ve been asked about this several times, so I’ll summarise it here: Irish orthography is one of the most efficient and has already undergone extensive reform. Attributing its poor sociolinguistic conditions to spelling is mental. (Continuing below)
