Assuming the wrongdoer complies, and we are reasonably sure they do so for the right reasons, what should we do in response? Should they just be left alone to go find a place somewhere else, or reintegrated into the group - and if so, in what new role? How are the power dynamics?

Which consequences can be reasonably blamed on the wrongdoer? What can this person realistically do to reduce the damage they caused? Why do we consider it reasonable to expect those steps from them? Are they responding cooperatively? Adversarially? Self-disrespectfully?

“Accountability” being used synonymously with “punishment” is a great example of why so many of y’all’s activism doesn’t work. It’s because for many of you, you aren’t out to make things better; you’re out to continue the cycle, because you feel entitled to putting others down.

We need a term for the opposite of a “bird.” A woman who does pick-me behavior in response to other women giving men any kindness or benefit of the doubt whatsoever, as if the inversion of the norm cancels out the fact it’s just another form of pointless infighting about dudes

Carceral justice minded ass loser. Shit like this is why prison abolition is an absolutely essential aspect of successful feminism, both literally and ideologically. You can’t punish your way out of a societal problem. You have to find ways to rebuild. Accountability and healing.

Don’t try to outfeminism me by scolding me for giving men olive branches unless you want me to thoroughly lecture you about how second-order consequences work, especially in regard to the ripple effects of helping to normalize the idea that men have no place in a feminist future.
