@gnrtvty @Firekkian @yoyonofukuoka the latin part is utter bs, too. it is the same as in english. gaul is implied through the context, as in written in another sentence.
English

That is a reasonable guess as to what was meant, but is not similar at all; Japanese does not encode person or number in conjugations like Latin does.
The subject needs to be recovered entirely from discourse context, shared knowledge, or pragmatic inference.
If you saw the Japanese equivalent of "veni, vidi, vici"
来た、見た、勝った (kita, mita, katta)
you would have no idea that it meant "I came, I saw, I conquered" just from this sentence alone.
It could mean "he came, he saw, he conquered" or even "they came, he saw, she conquered".
That is why automatic translation of Japanese and other high context languages has mistranslation risks that Latin and other Western languages do not, and why the @yoyonofukuoka gave the warning.
English

@yoyonofukuoka @Firekkian that was complete nonsense, dont listen to him. the meaning of the latin and the english phrase is identical
English

@Firekkian @yoyonofukuoka what are you talking about? latin means literally translated "i came, i saw, i conquered", the same as in english. obviously the context is gaul, but obviously thats the case in english, too. idk if grifting or stupid, but dont listen to this
English

I appreciate the forewarning offered to your brethren. I want to note that as far as I am aware, Latin, one of the West's deepest origin languages, is similarly contextual to Japanese, the famous line, "Veni Vidi Vici," meaning in actuality, "I came to Gaul, then I saw Gaul, and then I conquered Gaul." However in English you can still shorten this to "I came, I saw, I conquered," when the context of it being a Ceasar Quote is given beforehand. So as you see, we are not so word-dependent as you might think! I think in English it's really a matter of establishing the subject initially, and then flowing on through pronouns from there, because of whatever influence we took from Latin in our conversation style.

@SirLynx77 @GeraltofGoonia i truly think aaa companies should have a metric comparing the win they make with less piracy due to denuvo vs what they miss due to people waiting until denuvo is removed and it is on sale. they lose the sale diff on all late-buyers and the denuvo license on all others, a L L
English

@GeraltofGoonia I still don't get it.
I don't think people who pirate games will suddenly become buyers just because of Denuvo.
they will simply wait it out, no matter how long it takes.
There's also this trend where people want to truly own their games and play them offline.
English

@rockmeannadeus idk would make sense if the business model really is farming people at work, saturday might be less to do when it is like industry zone or so
English

@PaulMacKnz @sathyashrii really works regardless if you work in an office or not.
English

@Xentor_Antarix @sathyashrii bro didnt read the news to complain what he doesnt understand 😂😂
English

@sathyashrii I am in Germany, we hav eno 4 days Work week. Who invents these fals stupid bullshit?
Instead in many low money jobs we have 6 days work weeks.
English

@ColDyl @shitpost9000 @SimonViklund it indeed is, bc people that choose passwords like this are known to use them on multiple accounts. so if one got hacked, for sure they have heuristics to find manually created passwords (really not hard). they will then go on and try you password first on other services.
English

@bertutron @shitpost9000 @SimonViklund if my password is "iloveeveryoneinthisword6767@@" then it's not less secure than a random password
English

@themancalledroy @GennaBain i quit 2 years ago bc of a euro, it saved me hundreds. you are just playing their game as they intend you to
English

@GennaBain LOL people crashing out over 1 dollar.
English

@RevKimWChafee it is also contradicting the bible, since there are female rulers and judges in the bible
English

I just got a fine in the post because my teenage daughter had the seatbelt under her arm.
$2115
It's not a fine that she wasn't wearing her seatbelt, it's that she didn't wear it right.
Just a camera sitting there to watch our every move and raise revenue for the government.
It was probably during the time we were singing John Farnhams "2 strong hearts". We love that song, we sing it loud and proud, until the part about the river to the wet large section of water that connects continents.
We would never sing that part government, because that's banned too.
$2115 for this. Honestl7

@KetaMeanGal @foferxxx @jinijane_ imagine thinking everybody uploads filtered images. you seems to just be bubble slop. glhf, google confirmation bias
English

@foferxxx @jinijane_ Yeah I'm sure every photo you've ever posted was unfiltered. You people are scary narcissists.
English

My high school neighbourhood just elected a local 59yo councilwoman who campaigned in the local paper with an AI photo. Her statement: ‘I used an internet program to enhance the image because the resolution of the photo was bad. It’s simply my photo, that really is me. I use medication that’s why I look a bit different now. But yes, I do look much younger than my age. When I’m out with my son people think I’m his girlfriend. I hear that I look super young for my age all the time.’

English

@WolfSchwarzMond @JessicaTheGreen @svaneksmith thats easy 50k for not even a day of work, including selling. the risk is not high, since the product itself is untraceable
English

@JessicaTheGreen @svaneksmith Stores in your local neighborhood. You sell it for less then they were paying from Kit-Kat. Its a high risk for little profit situation.
English

So you've just stolen 12 tons of KitKats. You are going to
a. Sell it on the black market for a massive mark-up
b. Stash it in the bunker for end of days prep
c. Construct a Kit Kat Club out of actual KitKats
d. Not sure... Did not fully think this through
KITKAT@KITKAT
Regarding recent press coverage
English

@svaneksmith if someone gives you 12T of free kitkat, you dont know what to do with it? 😂
English

@KRA_Z_Chris @LionelMedia why dont you like the physiognomy of your beloved president?
English

@LionelMedia Thanks to assholes like Biden our entire military is full of overweight unfit pussies
English

What would you do? What would you advise your son to do?
The General@GeneralMCNews
BREAKING: U.S. Marines are filing emergency conscientious objector claims in an effort to avoid deployment in the ongoing war against Iran.
English

@jinijane_ That does look like her, just a little younger. What's your point? You realize everyone does this right.
English

@Adri_Iturralde @adelheidx333 "let me make up some bs. leaving reality is a good start when making a point. speculating for no reason with no evidence whatsoever is rational and will help in all discussions"
English

@adelheidx333 They are probably inviting girls to the server and they don't want him to scare them off. Honestly, understandable. Pretty shitty, but that just means they don't like him that much to begin with, lol
English

Do you know how unlikeable you have to be for someone to message you this LOL
uby@gbcko
Awesome 👍 Get cancer
English

@adelheidx333 This is absurd. People will only ask you this gentle if your somehow really really really annoying.
