Medical school might be one of the only degrees where you can take on an absurd amount of debt and still have a real path to paying it back.
Graduate with 250k-$400k in debt.
Make 60k-$75k/year during residency for 3-7 years.
Debt grows or barely moves during that time.
Then become an attending and jump to 250k-$500k+ depending on specialty.

@FedupCitiz9n @financedystop This is not quite true. $500k is a fairly typical physician salary. Believe it or not, around 50% of doctors make more than $400k. But you are definitely right that doctors who own their own practices make way more on average.

@financedystop Hell no. Your average family doctors are making $200-250k until they own their practices.
The ones making $500k are the 5 percentile specialist/surgeon who then pay a good portion of that amount to insurance.

@GusVague I still don't see how the math works in fast food's favor. You can realistically make 4 meals out of the ingredients on the right. 4 fast food meals would be $60. Groceries are way too overpriced, and that's morally wrong, but they are simply not more expensive than fast food.

A 92-year-old Catholic nun accidentally fell at my workplace today. She was able to walk away, but she was complaining of shoulder and rib pain. The poor woman is also a recent breast cancer survivor. Please pray for her health and wellbeing.
