The fact that #HamOnt City Hall has failed to produce audited financial statements for 2023 and 2024 is a five-alarm fire for voters. Worse yet, they have now deliberately chosen to withhold the 2025 statements until after the election, delaying basic transparency until at least 2027. We simply cannot re-elect politicians who refuse to provide a basic accounting of how they are spending our hard-earned money. I ask you to share this with your friends and neighbours. Far too many residents remain completely unaware of this massive failure in local governance.

BAD JUDGEMENT! Mayor Andrea Horwath's handpicked City Manager, Marnie Cluckie, owns this debacle. She demonstrated tremendously poor judgement when hiring accused influence peddler Arvin Prasad. We need a City Manager who won't hire scammers in the first place! Her exact words on June 4th, just 11 months ago: “I am delighted to welcome Arvin to the City of Hamilton. I look forward to his collaborative leadership as the new General Manager of our Planning & Economic Development Department, grounded in professionalism, innovation, transparency, and accountability." How much damage has this guy done to Hamilton since we brought him on? And why are we still paying him?

In 2017 our newly appointed Governor General Louise Arbour put out a UN video telling the media how they should talk about migrants. This is an outright attempt to steer narratives. They shouldn’t show any bias or that could sway public opinion. She doesn’t want people’s voices to sway politicians to make decisions against migration. This is unbelievable. The Spec, Hamilton's newspaper of record, has a responsibility to provide a forum for matters of public debate. Yes, media outlets are creatures of their owners, we accept an editorial slant. But where's the line? Immigration is the single most impactful public policy in Canada today. It has been for 20+ years. If the Spec will not permit any critical discussion of a government policy in their pages, should they act so surprised when a non-partisan public policy lobby group turns to posters? Imagine the article if the roles were reversed, pro-immigration posters being torn down. They'd be having kittens over it! Wall to Wall coverage.
