If I were PM Carney, I’d respond to President Trump’s request for help in the Strait of Hormuz... “We’ll help—but drop the tariff nonsense.”

“If we're not at the table, we're on the menu." That was Mark Carney in Davos. Funny, we aren't at the table on trade negotiations with the Americans. Guess that means we are on the menu. Meanwhile, the Americans and Mexicans are still moving forward on trade talks.

I respect how the Leader of the Opposition @PierrePoilievre has organized this trip. I have said it over & over again: If you only go to DC, you will not get the USA and you will not build real bonds.
Pierre Poilievre@PierrePoilievre

Advocated for Canada’s workers and businesses in today’s meeting with Texas Governor @GregAbbott_TX and Canadian MP @StevenBonkMP. In 2024, Texas was Canada’s second-largest export destination, and our fourth-largest trading partner overall, with $75 USD billion in trade. This included billions in Canadian natural resources and manufactured goods, including nearly $7 USD billion of oil and gas in 2024 alone. Over the past decade, Texas has brought $4.7 USD billion in capital investment to Canada, creating over 6,500 new jobs. With a CUSMA review on the horizon, discussions like this one are more important than ever. Our goal is to make Canada strong at home so we have unbreakable leverage abroad.

It is an unambiguously very good thing to have a pro-trade, anti-tariff conservative voice speaking to the Joe Rogan audience about the virtues of the Canada-US relationship. Pierre is an excellent communicator and will connect with that audience in a way that will benefit Canada

No, police in Canada aren't threatening to arrest people over social media posts. The woman in this video, Nicole Pearen Miske, posted about Prime Minister Carney and made a threat. "'I'm coming for you, you suck twisted fuck. You will get yours!" Police must investigate threats.

Once again, our community has been shaken by a violent home invasion—one that forced a homeowner to defend their family inside their own home. I want to thank @YRP for their swift response. No one should ever be put in that position, and I am thankful that the homeowner has not been charged, as this was an act of self-defence.

Here's the full story about the woman visited by Toronto cops over her social media posts. Who is she? What did she say to get the visit? Is Canada becoming Britain or did she break the law? torontosun.com/opinion/column…

@MarcPatrone C'mon Mark. He tried to show her, tried to talk to her and she just screamed at him and then closed the door. Also, you've seen the comments. Those get you a visit from the cops.

Donald Trump has been trying to get other countries to help the USA deal with the Strait of Hormuz. So far, not much success. But now it looks like he’s saying the US might just finish off the regime and leave the Strait to other countries to sort out.

@YaelOss I keep pointing this out. 10 of 27 countries will not ratify this. One of the main sticking points is dairy, followed by ag in general. Most Canadians don't know this. Most Canadian media fail to point it out.

@brianlilley Canada and the EU still don’t have a fully adopted free trade agreement after nearly 15 years. EU accession is a political left pipe dream.
