Abstract has been missing the ball lately. I've had talks with many OG's and power users over the last few months. Many are unhappy, beyond bags being down. I'm not afraid to speak my mind, also not afraid to be wrong so please correct anything and put it in check. I remain bullish on Abstract and have faith on the team to deliver. I also LOVE the abstract community. The people here are simply amazing. This post comes from a place of caring about the chain and the future for all of us here. Otherwise I wouldn't still be here or take the time to write this. One suggestion for a simple fix for better sentiment imo; Hire one or two people from within the community to be more involved with the core community who are STILL here holding things down while general sentiment and conditions are lower than they've ever been. NOT ANOTHER PERSON FROM WITHIN THE CIRCLE/ESTABLISHED TEAM. There's so many amazing creators and streamers who are STILL posting and streaming daily. Still bullish despite everything. The promised marketing and abstract august that turned into abstract autumn that turned into Phin saying they wouldn't spend money on things when the bear market is inevitably around the corner and sentiment is already so low. The big projects coming in that have been constantly delayed. The projects who have tried to bridge and be in the portal which is almost impossible. The lack of streamer approvals even for established twitch streamers or people who applied on day 1... Zero hiring of new people since the Launch of the chain. Why? The lack of connection with the core community is one of the biggest problems in my opinion. Many people are pouring their heart into this chain daily with zero interactions from the @AbstractChain account after 10 months, myself included. Maybe that's why nothing extra is being done, because you see people sticking around even through the worst of it so why put extra effort or spread yourself even more thin when it seems you don't have to. It makes the mind wander for answers. Makes it worse when you see there's Giga chads, the most prestigious role to have in the ecosystem, who have bridged everything off the chain, who never post about the chain, let alone talk in the discord. I don't know everyone's stories or journeys, that's not my place. But you have to be able to put yourself in someone else's shoes here and genuinely ask yourself who your core community is at this point and why we're not uplifting them and how they feel. Community is the most important thing, if they are not happy why would they hold the TGE down? There's people who have been here legit every day since launch who don't have Giga or JUST got it very recently, not to mention even a like or follow from the @AbstractChain or @Abstract_Eco account. It honestly feels disrespectful to an extent. I know posts like this can potentially push the team farther away, but that in itself is an issue. You need to have the hard conversations and realize who is actually here doing the work alongside you through the mud and address the concerns of your community. Maybe I'm selfish for saying this? I realllllly fuck with @gitmoney, he is probably my favorite team member and one that IMO is the most in touch with the community generally willing to take some time for most people. But honestly, he already had his work and position before Phin left, and to replace Phin with Logan was insane to me. Who is taking over the work he was doing before? Why would we not hire someone else? We haven't hired anyone since launch if I'm not mistaken? Are we just spreading that workload over an even thinner group now? @DailaX has started to push the community A LOT more as of recent as well, big props to her, as well as the highlighting of creators in the telegram channel. This is seemingly after the convo we had on an X spaces where I brought up the fact that NO team members ever show up/support on what I call the "night shift", the tight knit community of streamers who hold it down overnight in US time zone to which I sent her and Phin a list of those people in the DMs and idk that anything was ever done with that. I remain bullish, the thesis doesn't change, but things have gotten stale and we need some clear direction, movement, marketing, communication, hiring of new team members, new projects etc... I do believe in the ability of the team and Luca but anyone who is remotely tapped in right now knows how things are atm. Dark mode took MONTHS, there hasn't been an abstract game event in MONTHS, and the last one was an insane fumble by Cap n Co. Actually what was that? Badges discontinued then one old badge from pre launch is all we've had since August I think? Sugar Town promised a suite of games and has done nothing but one poker event one time. The countless rugs, from huge coins, to smaller ones included in the Abs curated games (cough cough gorf), multiplier, AIMI, the gacha grand prize fiasco, the multiple NFT projects that have done basically nothing after mint the list goes on... No one is perfect, but things are honestly getting exhausting and I'm not the only one voicing this. Much love, I really hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears. If anyone has input, if I'm way off base, if I'm being immature or am just plain wrong please address it and put me in check. Once again I remain bullish on the tech and team and the trickle down from pudgys and @LucaNetz, not to mention the entire community here, but things need to change.
