My 2025 was a year of music, fitness, and business as a W2 employee. Lots of grinding behind the scenes, but seeing a lot of payoff. - Led a show for the very first time as singer / guitarist - Performed ~5 solo open mics around NYC - Got paid to accompany a vocalist at a bar gig - Squatted 315 for first time ever - Broke ground deadlift PR (465lbs) - Got back into running for first time in 13 years - Competed in solo and double Hyrox with @jqdsouza - Helped a company IPO as a lead engineer - Made a wee bit of $ from my newest app (@mappermate) - Visited Portugal, Croatia, and Argentina Already scheduled out some of 2026, including restarting my YouTube channel and possibly creating a new one. Let's see where things go and where the world takes us with the crazy onset of AI.

I used to love coding I could spend days and nights doing it I’d discover new library or a framework, sit for 20 hours straight until I rewrite my app with it I was proud of my code, UI, db schema… I’d sit with a problem for hours or days and the moment I figured out great solution, I felt euphoric Today, I lost this joy. AI can do it all better than me. It’s almost like food. I used to love cooking, but today I simply go to the best restaurants and their food is amazing. I don’t enjoy my work anymore as I used to do. The only thing I still enjoy is twitting, because AI sucks at it, for now… I miss old good days, when I went to sleep thinking about a architecture, a function or an elegant code I will write tomorrow morning as soon as I wake up AI is like a shopping mall, I go there and buy anything I want I loved the old days when I had to do most of the things with my own hands AI is the greatest invention of my lifetime. I know how to monetize the sh*t out of it…but I lost the child like joy I used to experience at work and I feel really sad about it

@DavidKPiano I think an enterprise license would solve the issue pretty quickly. Not sure open sourcing to commercial companies is for the greater good anymore, they could afford it easily regardless.

@jeffrey_way @jackmcdade Basically going to need a "Created Before AI" badge on sites now for any sort of impressiveness to exist, even then, impossible to prove that besides via word of mouth from people who remember the site pre-AI.

@jackmcdade Another question I keep asking myself... "Great, you spent a billion tokens to have AI make this thing. Why should anyone care? It's not impressive." There used to a be a "Wow you figured this all out!!??" factor. But that doesn't really exist anymore.

And then what? Ask yourself this when you’re rushing to build whatever you’re building as fast as humanly (and agentically) possible. When it’s built…then what? Off to rush to the build the next thing as fast as possible? And then what? What’s ahead — beyond it all?

@sweatystartup Been thinking this for the past week... How many people are actually making revenue and substantial gains with the release of Opus 4.5? I only see losses. SaaS apps used to solve problems, now it's just Claude Code for almost everything.

The Claude hype on X is blowing my mind. People bragging about spending $300k a year on credits. Inventing problems to solve. But nobody is making any revenue or profit except Nvidia and the power companies. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills every time I log in.

Wrapped my time at the rocketship @DoppelHQ — endlessly grateful to have learned from the best: @rahul_madduluri and @KevinTian00 5. Began my founding journey with @shakshukan, started deep at -1 and approaching 0 now 6. Joined the @southpkcommons F25 fellowship program, lucky to have world-class investors + operators like @JPBrebner @ditzikow @msanvido in our corner 7. Spent a few days in the air: 14 flights, mostly NY <> SF (+ Boston, Toronto, DC, Montreal) 8. Deepened old friendships and made new ones through SPC — met brilliant folks like @michaelfanous1 @paranirmal9 (and many more). Couldn't be more excited for what's to come next year!

Been meaning to add a @MapperMate tutorial for forever now. Finally done and pushed live. One more killer feature for the app and I think it's going to be the best tilemap editor out there.

Heyo I'm still around, been taking a break from content creation this year, but have been working on the next video. I'm about 40% done I'd say, it's going to be a tutorial on coding the Dino game but with the first 7 min or so being an animated concept explainer. Pretty proud of it so far—think I need a week or so left of hard work to finish.

Going to use X a bit for accountability purposes (again). I enjoyed posting here more when it was just to keep pushing me closer towards my life goals rather than trying to "grow" or appease a certain audience. Have a guitar assignment for one of my instructors I need to finish—starting with that and will submit by 9:00pm (to instructor and here on X for proof). Should be fun, going to include YouTube / dev work shortly.
