I had high hopes for r/bullcity but there's too many bad actors who can't help themselves when it comes to spreading misinformation and deliberately derailing honest discussions. It's a real shame because it served as a great Twitter alternative for a while.

@vibester @DerScheinriese @ednico_ @logseq @tiensonqin If it's any comfort, multiple folks on the core team, myself included, mainly use Logseq for deep solo thought work. The DB version will have significant features for solo work including classes and enhanced properties. I wouldn't worry about RTC taking away from solo features

@RecklessRoxboro The pictures are a compelling part of the story. If that's part of why twitter is blocking then perhaps a website that rolls up all the pics by whatever snapshot you tweet out. You could even just host em on gitlab for now

Additionally, I'm going to hold off on @ the various gov't accounts since that's perhaps what got me in trouble (so much for platform of free speech if that's the case) but if anyone has thoughts on how to share it, let me know. I think it tells an important story.

Across the country, momentum is building for universities to make annual payments to the cities they are in. An extra $10-20 million per year could go a long way in Durham. It’s time for Duke to start paying it’s fair share.

Releasing my first public @logseq graph at tagaholic.me/durham-neighbo…! This graph contains notes for a brief class to learn more about how the Durham government works. It uses the upcoming database version of Logseq which has been awesome for capturing typed information

@dustingetz @logseq I hadn't thought about it much till you mentioned it. You can define a logseq/export.css to apply custom css just to the published graph e.g. I just hid the left sidebar with github.com/cldwalker/durh…. @kvistgaard has a nicer customization with personalknowledgegraphs.com

The graph uses the schema.org ontology so it was easy to reference common concepts and extend the ontology as needed. In the first 2 hour class I captured 20+ typed blocks/pages that are schema.org compatible - tagaholic.me/durham-neighbo… #LinkedData

@bullcitynerd Dumb question - how does skipping one planning meeting help the strikers? Are they hoping that enough solidarity cancellations will pressure to an early decision?

Durham Planning Commission kicked off with a statement from Commissioner Stephen Valentine announcing he will not be particpating in the meeting "in solidarity with the sanitation workers". He walked out along with Planning Commissioner Nate Baker

Would be $$$$, but it would be cool if the Durham Freeway in the downtown area be converted into a tunnel and the land above it could be converted into some sort of park or be used as a transit line. Just thinking wild and crazy thoughts…

@logseq @kvistgaard @avelinorun @danbri Another cool thing about this demo is that it was created with a 260 line script. This decoupling from the app means it would be possible for any engineer to write a script to import any ontology or subset of one that can map to Logseq's notion of classes and properties

@logseq loom.com/share/6aaab347… is a demo of this that creates 6 schema.org types - Movie, Book, SoftwareSourceCode, Person, ProgrammingLanguage and Location. All of this is WIP, ui/ux needs love and subject to change as it's early days /cc @kvistgaard @avelinorun @danbri

@rroudt @logseq Worth checking out clojure.camp. It's a fairly new community for Clojure beginners and I think they are able to pair up mentors with beginners

What’s the best way to learn Clojure? I work at a software company (@logseq) where almost everything is in Clojure. But I’m not an engineer by any means (dabbling with functional JavaScript doesn’t count, I think). So Clojurists, what resources should a non-engineer beginner like me start with?
