The casualties in Gaza are devastating to see. And I am a lifelong supporter of a two-state solution. But those calling for an unconditional ceasefire must explain how Israel is (a) to prevent Hamas from simply reloading and going again, as it always does; (b) rescuing the >200 hostages held by Hamas. Why are people not calling for the immediate return of the hostages or disarmament of Hamas?
