Eu adoro o conceito da Artéria Sombria, introduzido por @GailSimone e @DaveMarquez na atual fase dos Fabulosos X-Men. Trata-se de uma comunidade mutante centenária, estabelecida na Louisiana há mais de 100 anos. Formada majoritariamente por mutantes negros, ela nasceu como um refúgio contra o racismo e a escravidão. Esse conceito, além de ser forte por si só, representa um capítulo significativo na história da mutandade. Assim como Arakko e a origem do Apocalipse, a trama da Artéria Sombria contribui para desconstruir o Xaviercentrismo, que é a ideia de que toda a narrativa mutante começa e gira em torno dos X-Men. A mutandade é muito maior do que os X-Men. Temos os mutantes sobreviventes de Arakko, os Morlocks, e agora a Artéria Sombria. Espero que cada vez mais vejamos histórias que explorem comunidades mutantes espalhadas pelo mundo. Como os mutantes se organizam no Brasil? No Japão? Na Rússia? No Egito? Esse é o tipo de narrativa que me fascina: mostrar como diferentes culturas e sociedades moldam a experiência mutante em seus próprios contextos.

Gerry Conway! Man this is heartbreaking. One of the essential voices that influenced the comic book journey of many in my age group. The man who introduced us to Punisher! Firestorm! Power Girl! I gushed over him at every opportunity and was fortunate to work with him. He wrote a seminal comic that set me on my path of consuming comic books. Rest In Peace, Gerry. What a sweet, kind, immensely generous and talented man.

We did two issues in Rosario, Luciano was involved in every choice we made.
