Remembering the unsung chapter of the liberation of Silvassa and Dadra & Nagar Haveli from Portuguese rule in 1954. While brave volunteers and local freedom fighters carried out the movement on the ground, many others supported the cause from behind the scenes. Lata Mangeshkar, helped raise funds through musical programs to support the liberation effort. The movement also saw the participation of volunteers associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alongside groups like Azad Gomantak Dal and local patriots who fought against Portuguese rule. A tribute to every known and unknown contributor who played a role in freeing Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Silvassa. 🇮🇳

50 bureaucrats in Madhya Pradesh allegedly bought land on the same day. Then a ₹3200 crore road project was approved near that land. Within 11 months, the land use was changed and prices skyrocketed nearly 11 times. These are the same people who cleared one of the toughest exams in the country and said in interviews that they “want to serve the nation.” This is not public service. This looks like institutionalized insider profiteering. No Termination!

Her name is Rupan Deol Bajaj. She was an IAS officer of the Punjab cadre serving as Special Secretary Finance. One of the most senior women in the Punjab government in 1988. On the night of July 18, 1988, she attended a dinner party at the Chandigarh residence of Punjab’s Financial Commissioner SL Kapoor. Also at that party was KPS Gill. The Director General of Police, Punjab. The most powerful police officer in the state. Around 10 pm, he walked up to her and ordered her to get up and come with him. She turned to leave. He slapped her on her posterior in front of the other guests. She filed a complaint the very next day. What followed was 17 years. The police submitted a report favouring Gill. The High Court quashed her FIR. The same officer who reviewed her complaint had already given an opinion in Gill’s favour before acting as a judicial officer in the same case. She went to the Supreme Court. Her own mother told her to cry over it privately and move on. She received death threats. She was given punishment postings. She fought anyway. In 1995, the Supreme Court restored her complaint and directed prosecution. In 2005, the final verdict came. Gill was convicted under Section 354 and Section 509 of the IPC for outraging her modesty. His three month jail sentence was converted to probation. He was fined Rs 2 lakh. She declined to accept the compensation. The court ordered it be donated to women’s organisations. In 2010, she wrote to the government demanding they take back the Padma Shri given to KPS Gill. The man who slapped her was never jailed for a single day. The woman who fought him spent 17 years doing it. Follow for real stories India never makes headlines about.

BJP looted 44 lakh crore rupees from taxes on petroleum. They give three reasons for utilisation of this loot: 1. Repayment of Oil bonds 2. New roads were built 3. People are getting cash subsidies through DBT All three reasons are misleading. 1. Oil Bonds repayments: • Out of 44 lakh crore, only 3.3 lakh crore was the repayment. • It is Just 7% of total tax on petroleum. • For every ₹1 repaid, ₹13 was pocketed BY THE Modi government. 2. Roads were built • NHAI debt in 2025 was ₹3.35 lakh crore, twice the oil bonds! • The roads are being privatised and toll this year was nearly 73000 crore rupees. • Roads were built on borrowed money, future tolls are pledged to repay loans and reward investors, and people continue to pay rising tolls to drive on those roads. 3. The money went to the poor The subsidy bill has actually drastically fallen during Modi regime, since 2014. • Total Subsidy share of budget: fell from 16.3% → 13.06% • Petroleum subsidies: collapsed from 5.1% → 0.24% • Fertilizer subsidy: reduced 9.6 % → 7.33% • Housing subsidy is stagnant • DBT didn’t expand welfare, it rebranded existing schemes and reduced the budgets The Debt Trap • the total debt goes up from 55 lakh crore rupees in 2014 to 218.63 lakh crore rupees in current financial year! • India now pays ₹11 lakh crore/year in interest alone • Every citizen carries ₹1.5 lakh in debt, not counting off-budget liabilities I write for @NH_India ✍️ @INCIndia @kharge @RahulGandhi nationalheraldindia.com/opinion/modi-g…

Dear PM @narendramodi, can you please check with your @MoHUA_India minister @mlkhattar and @Secretary_MoHUA, if this is legal? Land allotted by MoHUA at a concessional rate to the people of Daman, Diu, DNH and Lakshadweep, for UT Bhawan, for convenient and affordable stay when they are in Delhi, is now given to Ginger hotels to run on a commercial basis? You can go book Ginger Chanakyapuri it seems. Was the land-use changed for this? If it is to be given commercially, why allot it? What is the amount of money involved here? Isn't this completely illegal?

If the RSS-BJP Can Target a Shankaracharya, Who Is Safe? I have carefully perused the order dated 21 February 2026 passed by the learned Special Judge (POCSO Act), Sri Vinod Kumar Chaurasia, in Criminal Miscellaneous No. 88/2026 directing registration of an FIR against Jagadguru #Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj Ji and others under grave provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO). The sequence of events culminating in this order raises profound concerns that extend far beyond a single case. What emerges is a disturbing pattern that appears designed not merely to initiate criminal proceedings but to silence dissenting religious voices through the strategic use of state machinery and draconian laws. The chronology itself is revealing. On 18 January 2026, during the sacred occasion of Mauni Amavasya at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, administrative and police authorities obstructed the traditional palanquin procession of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj Ji on his way to the Triveni Sangam for the holy dip. This intervention escalated into police manhandling and assault on his disciples, including minors, triggering a major law-and-order confrontation. The Jagadguru and his followers were forced into a prolonged public dharna lasting over ten days, accompanied by widespread criticism of the Uttar Pradesh administration and police leadership. This episode was not merely administrative friction; it marked a direct challenge to established religious protocol. Historically, Jagadguru Shankaracharyas and senior Dharmacharyas receive precedence and facilitation during such sacred gatherings. Instead, the administration went so far as to question in writing the Jagadguru Shankaracharya’s credentials, demanding proof of his status — an unprecedented step that provoked outrage across religious circles and raised questions about the state’s approach to religious authority. The confrontation soon acquired an openly political dimension. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj Ji publicly challenged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Hindu religious credentials, demanded proof within forty days, and announced a large congregation of Hindu religious leaders in Lucknow in the second week of March 2026 to expose anti-Hindu actions of the Sangh Parivar government. His longstanding criticism of RSS, BJP, Narendra Modi, and Yogi Adityanath — particularly regarding alleged inaction on cow protection, promotion of beef exports, and failure to grant legal sacred status to the cow — had already positioned him as a prominent dissenting voice within the Hindu religious landscape. It is in this exact context that allegations of sexual exploitation of minors suddenly surfaced — not through parents or guardians of alleged victims but through one Ashutosh Brahmachari Maharaj, identifying himself as Shakumbhari Peethadhishwar and a disciple of Sri Rambhadracharya Ji, widely perceived as aligned with the Sangh Parivar ecosystem and ideologically opposed to the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj Ji. The timing and provenance of the complaint cannot be ignored. The procedural trajectory raises even more serious questions. Despite the mandatory statutory obligation under the POCSO Act to register an FIR immediately upon disclosure of cognisable offences, the Station House Officer at Jhunsi Police Station declined to do so. Escalation to the Commissioner of Police under Section 174 BNSS also produced no action, notwithstanding the penal consequences under Section 21 of the POCSO Act for failure to register such offences. Only after the applicant approached the Special Court under Section 173(4) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita did the police submit an enquiry report confirming allegations — effectively presenting the Court with a fait accompli that led to directions for FIR registration. This sequence exposes a glaring institutional contradiction. If the allegations genuinely disclosed cognisable offences, the initial refusal by police authorities constitutes a punishable crime under Section 21 of the POCSO Act, for which they are liable to be prosecuted. If, however, the earlier inaction reflected genuine doubts about the veracity of the allegations, the sudden emergence of a confirming report after judicial intervention raises serious concerns about independence and motive. Such a dramatic institutional pivot cannot be brushed aside as routine procedure. Further, the complainant, Ashutosh Brahmachari (also referred to as Ashutosh Pandey), is allegedly a registered criminal history-sheeter at Kandhla Police Station in Shamli district, with a large number of criminal cases. This background, coupled with perceived ideological proximity to political actors opposed to the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj Ji, undermines any claim that the complaint arose from a neutral or disinterested source. Equally significant is the reported fact that the alleged victims were not disciples of the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj Ji. If true, this raises fundamental questions about proximity, access, and the plausibility of the narrative advanced in the complaint. Most striking is the alleged timing of the occurrence of the offence itself. The purported POCSO incident is said to have occurred on 18 January 2026 — the very day when the Jagadguru and his disciples were publicly engaged in confrontation with authorities, subjected to police obstruction and alleged lathi charge, and participating in visible street protests amid intense administrative and media presence and scrutiny. In such a highly visible and chaotic environment, the claim that grave offences were simultaneously committed against alleged victims reportedly outside the circle of disciples strains credibility to the extreme. Taken together, this episode reflects a pattern that many will recognise: initial bureaucratic-police inaction forcing recourse to courts, followed by a favourable enquiry report compelling courts to issue orders that confer institutional legitimacy upon allegations, and the invocation of a stringent statute like POCSO that ensures immediate reputational damage regardless of eventual adjudication. Such processes risk creating a chilling effect, sending a message that Hindu religious leaders who challenge political authority may face criminalisation through proxy complaints and procedural manoeuvres. The draconian POCSO Act exists to protect children. Its use in politically charged contexts demands heightened scrutiny precisely because the mere allegation carries immense stigma. An independent and transparent investigation into the genesis of this complaint, the conduct of police authorities, and the broader circumstances surrounding the case is therefore essential. This is not merely about one individual. If a Jagadguru Shankaracharya can be targeted in this manner, then no Dharmacharya is safe. This is a moment for Hindus to awaken, unite, and rise in defence of our Shankaracharyas and our sacred institutions. Silence today will become surrender tomorrow. @jyotirmathah @govardhanmath @sringerimath @DandiSwami @KanchiMatham
