I was scammed. I’m ashamed to say that was my first intro to crypto. A fairly close friend emailed me with an investment opportunity and I trusted her 120%. I had no reason not to. Long story short, someone had hacked her email account and was impersonating her so I lost a nice chunk of money. I realized that if I had known even a tiny bit about crypto I would have realized it was a scam long before I actually started becoming suspicious so I decided it was time to learn. I was never going to be scammed again. Spoiler alert: I did get scammed again. 😒

NEW: Columbus, Georgia, police chief Stoney Mathis has a blunt message for anyone who targets his police officers: "If you commit murder in the city of Columbus and then you shoot two of my police officers, we're going to kill you." The comment from Mathis came after a suspect, 33-year-old Jerome Willis, shot and killed a manager at a Dollar General before getting in a shootout with police officers. An officer and a police K9 were shot by the suspect. Police returned fire and killed Willis. The police officer and the K9 who were shot are expected to recover. Willis had recently been released from prison. As a juvenile, he was sentenced to 20 years for robbery. He was released before being convicted of terroristic threats in 2024. After serving two years, he was released before murdering Dollar General manager Alexis Hill. Authorities say Willis handed two crumpled $1 bills to Hill for $1.58 hamburger buns. As she was straightening the money, he pulled out a gun and shot her.

Cheating in elections has always been in the absentee ballot. In the 1950s, a member of FDR's cabinet got caught stuffing 500 absentee ballots in Kentucky. That was the only way to cheat because in-person voting is hard to rig. Now we mail ballots to everyone unsolicited, nobody watches them get signed, and we make it legal to collect 10,000 at once. We built the vulnerability ourselves. The SAVE America Act is the right fight at the federal level, but I refuse to give up at the state level either.

The goal is to make "Democrats want illegal aliens to vote in your elections" a sentence every American knows and understands. That's not a hard argument to win. We just have to be willing to make it, loudly and repeatedly, until it sticks.
