FIFA ticket sales? 2010 (South Africa): $300 million 2014 (Brazil): $527 million 2018 (Russia): $541 million 2022 (Qatar): $686 million 2026 (Mostly USA): >$3 billion projected Even adjusted for more teams (48 vs 32) and more group stage matches, these numbers are off the charts, and exclude hospitality, F&B, travel, hotels, etc. Just ask Freddy.

So far you’d have to say Scotland are a great argument against a 48 team World Cup. They simply don’t add any value - not competitive, no players you’d cross the street to watch, a dull negative style of play. #scomor

I truly do love the sport of soccer. But some of the rules are so confusing and so ridiculous that it bothers me often. To be honest, that’s probably a big reason why American sports fans don’t accept soccer because some rules are so foreign to any American sports fan.

Should the World Cup broadcasts show each nation's FIFA world soccer ranking, like a college FB/BB game? This England-Croatia game is #4 vs. #11, so a close match Cape Verde-Spain was #67 v. #2 I'm sure FIFA has rules for stuff like this. It'd help instantly convey narrative!

This World Cup is already a drag. 48 teams is a terrible idea, only benefiting the sponsors, FIFA's pockets, and Scotland. On paper, England v Croatia is probably the most competitive game yet, and that'll be almost a week into the tournament.
