OK, here's my question: Which trans rights are we supposed to be fighting for? What are the rights that trans people deserve that they don't already have? Universal pediatric transition? Free Blåhaj sharks for everyone? What???
Armand Domalewski@ArmandDoma

the idea that we have to throw trans people under the bus to defend democracy is bananas. the fact that voters don’t like some particular policies, like gender reassignment surgery for undocumented prisoners, does not mean we abandon trans people wholesale

@StevTuesDay @IDoTheThinking @Keith_Carson I'm more concerned with their ability to count RCV correctly tbh. A decade ago they posted the full voting results so anyone could run it themselves but they just stopped doing that and only post tabulations.

@IDoTheThinking @Keith_Carson Yep literally every election, and then the votes are eventually counted and any energy to reform the Registrar evaporates despite the delays and mistakes. Maybe this time is different ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@teroterotero @MattBruenig Mortgage rates are up due to uncertainty and the odd way 30 year fixed loans work. But stocks don't lose value just due to future uncertainty like that.

@MattBruenig Not yet - I figure we get that ecstatic final S&P blowoff top before mortgage rate hits 8%.

@eean @ArmandDoma He could very well end up with more than he did. But election night coverage and day after have all been consistent in saying that he won the swing states with fewer votes than he got in 2020. Obviously he got the majority of votes, but it’s significantly lower turnout there.

@J_LaRosa415 @ArmandDoma yeah it's a terrible article, it apparently confused you into thinking Trump is going to win with less votes lol

@eean @ArmandDoma Based on election night numbers, Harris massively underperformed Biden in Democrat strongholds (Philly, Detroit, Atlanta, etc) to the point that she couldn’t make up the difference in rural areas. Trump want more popular this time. He won with less votes than he got in 2020.

@J_LaRosa415 @ArmandDoma also we need to stop thinking that people who don't turn out are going to vote for us. Democrats became the party of the more-consistent voters at some point. Probably a huge amount of the "Biden 2020, not voting 2024" people just forgot to vote for Trump.

@J_LaRosa415 @ArmandDoma are you looking at turnout data on Nov 7th lol. I dunno, maybe. But it's too early to have turnout takes. Certainly looks like Biden to Trump was the deciding factor.

@J_LaRosa415 @ArmandDoma that would imply the new trump voters are hanging out on twitter being chastised. i don't know where those people chill but it's not in the same media environment as me.

@ArmandDoma The condescending behavior of telling people they’re wrong to be mad at high food prices seemed like it’d have pretty obvious effects. It didn’t convince anyone and only pissed off and alienated the people who were upset. No surprise they didn’t vote for the ppl chastising them.

This is what happens when we can’t build housing. NIMBYs are killing the future of our party. Democrats need to learn how to build shit again. We need to massively cut the red tape that prevents us from building mixed use, transit oriented development cheap and quickly.
Ben Shapiro@benshapiro

Hey Democrats, I have some more unfortunate news for you. Here's what the electoral map looks like after the 2030 census. Republicans likely pick up TWELVE electoral votes through population growth.

@ramez You kinda just don’t quit with the insults for 52% of the country’s voters. Like, class it up a little. You’re not better or smarter than them. Hard to follow you as a serious person

@ramez And not just us retailers, US manufacturers who are higher in the supply chain. I'm sure that will be great for international competitiveness.

You know who I like? Julián Castro. Had a very solid housing platform in 2020 but was completely blackballed by the Democratic Party or something for having the poor sense to imply that Biden’s mind was not all there anymore during a debate.
