@Paul_HouseSmith i heavily doubt its just that really. A shadow crystal is just solidified Determination. Can the glass mentionned in this dialogue be shadow crystals? Possibly, darkness is a derivative of Determination, it makes sense. The thing is that important part here isnt so much the

The "fallen star" is implied to be the origin of Darkness (rivers run into oceans). Gaster only discovered Darkness and tried to harness it (entry17) while Dess only makes dark fountains like any lightner. The title "fallen" probably doesn't even refer to

@LazyNick5 did read that one theory proposing that Wingding and Aster are 2 seperate people, and Aster is the fallen star, that Dr Wingding was in love with. Was an interesting take but also doesn't seem like toby to drop the name of mystery character he's been building up to for a decade

One of the reasons I love Gaster Angel is that I think it helps casual players feel the weight of Gaster in the narrative without knowing about him. The game already does this with the few scenes where he talks to us directly, but being the Angel would push that further
