One of REC's proudest partnerships has been with @freedomtothrive, who is doing timely work to reimagine the criminal justice and immigration systems. REC and Freedom to Thrive partnered on prison divestment work that continues to this day.

We offer our deepest heartfelt thanks to the student activists, organizers, staff, board, leaders, funders, and partner organizations, who shared collective successes while confronting society’s biggest challenges. We love you and thank you for making REC what it is.

We made this decision after careful deliberation of the results of our 2019 Listening Tour with stakeholders. Our statement includes details about our thinking, our decision regarding REC's remaining resources, and how to best elevate our peers' work.

We extend our gratitude to everyone in REC’s network and beyond for the deeply important work being done in the pursuit of justice.

REC has engaged a diverse range of stakeholders and community members in conversations about the organization’s future, as well as better understanding its past. The REC transition board looks forward to sharing the results of the Listening Tour in early 2020.
