Even if the war ended tomorrow, we estimate that it would take at least four months to bring energy markets back to some semblance of normalcy:
- it will take two to four weeks to rev up oil production, and up to seven weeks to restart Qatar's LNG plant
- shippers may hesitate to transit Hormuz until there's been a long stretch without attacks or threats
- once they resume, many will be in the wrong place: tankers that haul Middle Eastern oil to Asia are headed to pick up cargoes in America instead, and the round-trip voyage can take 90 days
- finally, you'll have to bring refineries and regasification plants back online in importing countries, and that will take several more weeks
And this is the optimistic scenario: the longer the war goes on, the longer the consequences will linger. economist.com/finance-and-ec…

NATO VOWS TO REOPEN HORMUZ
NATO chief Mark Rutte said he is “absolutely convinced” the alliance will reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
He noted allies are coordinating their response after weeks of planning, stressing the importance of acting together with the U.S.
Rutte also called the U.S. operation “crucial,” citing Iran as an “existential threat.”

Discovering that PTA substantially wrote KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON script (turning the FBI as savior plot into a complex study of an inter-racial marriage) is a real "eureka" moment. It makes so much sense.

It’s crazy how these guys continue to justify the war by lying that Iran was “holding the world hostage” with a nuke.
Iran didn’t have a nuke.
There’s no evidence it was going to get a nuke.
It previously agreed to a deal to prevent it getting a nuke, which Trump broke.

Question: I'm a waiter at a local restaurant in Queens, a full time college student who sleeps an average of four hours a night and is still thousands in debt. How is a war in a country half the world away funded by the taxes pulled from my check, helping me in any way?

Here are the options being weighed to try to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, all of which are complex and carry substantial risks. None of them would guarantee a quick end to the conflict w/@lukebroadwater, @helenecooper

Tucker Carlson is explicitly praising Oswald Mosley, head of the British Union of Fascists and personal friend of several leading Nazis (he even held his 1936 wedding in Joseph Goebbels' home in Munich with Hitler in attendance).
