I'm confused on how he's putting your friends against each other by pointing things like this out. These are things that I want to know. I don't care who is in office. I care about the fact that I buy a house and then just after my property taxes climb 36%. Right now the progressive Democrats are getting the heat because they are the ones in control.

The topic is a waste and they're getting paid to discuss the topic. Therefore it is a waste. Additionally, there's no narrative being painted here. The topic isn't even about waste. @Kheniwyze @colin_dunlap Disagree. The topic is waste but Mr. Dunlap is choosing to highlight one particular aspect to paint his narrative. Waste is rampant on all sides of government & if crime follows illegals, then local law should be policing the crime. You don't need a separate agency/expense

@foolcapacity @colin_dunlap The topic is waste. The council's decision cannot be enforced and therefore the entire initiative is waste. It has no benefit whatsoever. Removing illegals saves lives. You also can't measure something that's "undocumented," so 2% cannot be proven.

@jbd6996 @colin_dunlap I respect your approach but I guess my issue is spend the money where the biggest problem is. Send ice to California or New York or Texas. You're spending a lot of money for a little bit of juice that local law enforcement could handle if property governed

@foolcapacity @colin_dunlap We would also need to weigh it against economic drain/contribution of the person if not deported. So the the lesser of the two would be preferred.

@jbd6996 @colin_dunlap Im not sure that falls under the Freedom of Information Act. I would like to see that myself. I imagine if we're going per deportation, that's at least a 6 digit number.

@jbd6996 @colin_dunlap Im just saying it's more of a mathematics issue. The amount of tax payer money being spent here to police 2% of population is strictly a waste. It's like Washington sending us a special task force to teach 4 fingered children how to write in cursive

@foolcapacity @colin_dunlap So if we know who the 2% are (which is needed to get a %), removal should be cheap and efficient with the support of local law enforcement

@foolcapacity @colin_dunlap ICE, formerly INS, ran roughshod in the SW for many decades, see the movie Born in East LA. Thanks to terrible leadership, those issues common to that locale are now common throughout the US. This isn't an organic problem.
