How do I go about getting my money back... I've already paid my British gas bill this month 😭

@MoneySavingExp Hi, I was with People's energy and have now been transferred to British gas, I was told not to cancel my direct debit while the switch happened but now another payment has come out for people's energy when they have now ceased trading...

@AskNationwide I've had a direct debit come out today for my energy bill but the company no longer exists because it ceased trading and it's been taken over, how do I go about getting the money back so I can pay the new provider or is there anything I can do?

10 years ago tomorrow we signed on the dotted line to buy the Max Spielmann Photo business. It was in administration, half the shops were shut, it was losing £4m a year, and everyone said photo was dead...and only a nutter would buy it! I think it’s worked out ok.
