Ever wondered why text never aligns perfectly? You set padding to 24px. You check it in dev tools. But visually it looks like 32px. The reason is invisible space above and below every text element. CSS includes it by default because of how line-height works.

Introducing 𝚑𝚒𝚝-𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚊—a collection of @tailwindcss utility classes for expanding the hit area of interactive elements. Small hit areas are a silent UX killer. One class fixes it. Distributed via @shadcn registry - see link below.

text always has weird extra space above capitals and below the baseline. one-line CSS fix: `text-box: trim-both cap alphabetic;` Perfectly trims the text box to the actual glyph bounds. No more padding hacks.

Ever noticed how your entire page shifts when you open a modal? That's not a bug, that's a missing CSS property.

You know what kills your site performance? Rendering 3000px of content when the user can only see 900px. And there is an easy fix for that. It's a magical CSS property content-visibility: auto.

another good example of `tabular-nums` in action. must have for columns of right-aligned numbers (tables, invoices, dashboards). normal table's columns have ragged left edges as digits swap between narrow ("1") and wide ("0", "8") glyphs. where tabular stays perfectly flush ~
Soren@sorenblank

`tabular-nums` should be the default for any number that updates ( timers, counters, prices, percentages, scores, live data etc ). you can enable this tnum OpenType feature using the CSS property `font-variant-numeric`. .tabular-nums { font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums; }

A quick way to improve how text behaves in your app is to use `text-wrap: balance`. It distributes text evenly across each line, avoiding orphaned words. It is only supported for a limited number lines (<6-10 depending on the browser), which means it's best used for headings or short paragraphs.
