@JCRyle I’ve told people before that if I could get unsaved and resaved, it would be at Holy Spirit driven sermon from Paul washer. Curious, did something or someone spur the pole? I must have missed that.

These poll results are not surprising one bit. Virtually every Christian I've met in the past 20 years or so, has been blessed by Paul Washers preaching and ministry. In fact, I don't recall ever meeting on person (face to face) to ever had a negative word about Washer or true criticism, that he was wrong in certain areas. Washer is a unique figure. He was man molded on the missions field, but at Seminary. He's an evangelist/missionary, he's not a pastor. He's not the best expositor, he's even admitted such. He preaches primary topical (like) sermons, like Spurgeon, Ryle and many Puritans did. I know expository preaching is the "gold standard" of today, and yes, most local church pastors should strive to preach the majority of their sermons that way, I believe. BUT, don't discredit those who preach on topics, especially those related to the sin and compromise in the "professing" local church and culture, like Washer does focus on. Not to mention, the weighty importance of HeartCry Missionary society. I've spent time with Brother Washer. He's shared with me the immense battles and burdens he carries leading HeartCry. Literally dealing with life and death situations often. These things MOLD a man. They also mold his preaching. When life and death are before your eyes often, whether ministering at the abortion mills, or working with the homeless population, working with indigenous missionaries in dangerous places...It changes YOU. And this is why we have a man like Washer, who preaches the way he does and we should thank God for Washer, like we did MacArthur, Baucham etc... If you feel led, please consider donating to HeartCry missionary society give.heartcrymissionary.com

@tweetraychang Not really much more to it. Every Evangelical I know that votes R does so begrudgingly, "yeah they suck but the other guys are so much worse" kind of thing. None have ever tried to convince me it's the representation of Christianity in American politics. (1/2)

Most evangelicals that lean left don’t really care if you critique the Democratic Party because they don’t fall in agreement with all of their policy positions and don’t have a vested interest in the preservation and promotion of the Democratic Party. Many tend to be socially progressive but theologically conservative - so they disagree on a variety of issues that the Democratic Party promotes. Evangelicals that lean right have a vested interest un the preservation and promotion of the Republican Party because they are practicing a syncretism of right wing politics. They will do everything to defend republicanism and conservatism, even if it means that Christian witness and fidelity is compromised. Many evangelical democrats and republicans actually hold to similar theological convictions. Where they often differ are on issues of race, immigration, and the role of the state to provide services for the marginalized.

Checked on replacement heifers. These are our calves born this spring. They are aging well and starting to size up. We will pelvic measure and weigh for size to see who makes the cut. Good healthy herd here. Weather continues to be excellent

I can’t recommend enough walking your children through catechisms nightly. Ellie Jo is 11 & it’s been quite some time since I walked her thru them. Most of my nightly routine is spent with the youngers now. I revisited them with EJ tonight and she nailed 32 of them, deep within her brain & hopefully her heart. God is so kind to give us the responsibility of training our children in the Word. The sad truth is my 11 year old, by knowing the answers to 32 catechisms, knows more theology than 90% of average churchgoers. Pray for hunger for God’s Word & He WILL give it to you!

For the first time in history, at the approval of Pope Leo, the skeleton of St Francis of Assisi will be open for veneration, with the church announcing that these bodily 'relics' will be open to pilgrims from February 22 to March 22, 2026 to celebrate 800 years since his death.

@TomBuck 100%. Tomorrow’s text is a Colossians 1:3-8, how the Gospel changes the world. The Holy Spirit is a good sermon planner.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with pausing an expositional sermon series to address a current issue. I’ve done it. But I can’t tell you how many times that a significant event happened and the already planned text fit perfectly with what needed to be said about the event.

“Look she has a rosary” No, facts MATTER. Just stop trying to make it all about your institution for one day , it’s ABOUT JESUS. pictured below he is wearing the necklace she’s holding. Stop it! Immediately. You can’t let anything be without making it about you …. Again it’s about Christ! He trusted in CHRIST.

@OldHat77 @LizzieMarbach @redeemed_zoomer @sola_chad @5SolasMissy Thank you for this. There’s a prominent RC whose posts I used to read and often enjoyed. Interactions were mostly polite to those in disagreement. But lately, it has turned into “Church Fathers said…” Beyond that, the posts devolve into a narcissistic “you prots know nothing”

It does appear that there are more intellectual Protestants who go Catholic than vice versa. There are exceptions but it is a trend However, I think it’s at least PARTLY due to Pascal’s Wager Intellectual Protestant circles generally don’t think Catholics are unsaved whereas most Catholic circles believe that, despite Protestants having a shot at salvation due to invincible ignorance, apostasy is a guaranteed ticket to hell That’s why you’ll see plenty of Catholic scholars basically grant tons of Protestant positions but create some intellectual workaround for them to still somehow stay Catholic

Tassel wrap. A prime example of why you don’t plant your whole farm to last year’s best hybrid. Spread your risk.
